vj's who made the poe in miami please help

hi vj's im leaving this month my poe is in miami. I will arrive in miami 5:25 and i will be taking my next flight to los angeles 7:50 do u think that is enought time to the poe and get my flight at time. thank u

I have traveled through Miami using my tourist visa with 3 hours layover before heading to New York and I always get to my connection gate right on time for 3 reasons:

1. The tourist line is very long and slow

2. I'm from Colombia, my country has bad reputation so my luggage is always opened and searched.

3. The airport is really big and going from arrivals to my gate is usually a 10 to 15 minutes run.

I don't know how it would be, but keep in mind the airport is pretty big and walking it would take you around 15 or 20 minutes to go from one end to the other. Look for an airport map and find where your connection gate is and calculate from POE to the gate how long it'd take you.

Also include a 20 to 30 minutes possible delay (God forbid, but you should keep that in mind) and Include 30 minutes to an hour at POE (maybe less depending of the time you're arriving)

And calculate how fast you'll have to run to catch your flight (I always seem to have to run :[ to do so).

Also be very fast when getting off of the plane and walking to immigration and don't stop, just go as fast as you can go without running.

Hopefully someone with the same visa type as yours has gone through here and will be able to better help you.

Again, this is based on my experience entering the US on a B1/B2 visa.

I visited my fiance in San Francisco a few times, as tourist traveler (B1/B2 visa). My experience from Santo Domingo to San Francisco via Miami was not good. I had a 2 hour layover and I thought I had enough time to change planes etc and I'm a slow walker, can't walk fast. I used American Airlines and the plane arrive 15 minutes earlier and I thought no problem. I was supposed to take the 4.30pm flight to San Francisco (this was last june).

The line was long, there were passengers from another flight already in line, and there were only a few customs officers working. It was my first time at the Miami airport and I knew the aiport was big, but the distance that I had to walk, almost run, was ridiculous...I didn't know where to take the trains or which one etc, when I finally got my luggage at 4pm, there were American Airlines employees checking the tickets and told me that I couldn't aboard the plane because there was not enough time to check in my luggage, I could aboard if I was only taking my carry on but it was not my case. They got me a ticket for the next flight, at 9pm!!! at least I didn't have to pay for another ticket.

In your case, I hope it goes fast enough without issue.. What Fania/Nelson explained, seems accurate, I agree.

Through Miami that isnt enough time. When I came back last month it took my son and I over 3 hours to get through. Being you have your package to turn in and what not I would plan for a longer time with them.

Hey Sweetie... doesn't your baby have US Passport?? If so you can go through the Citizens line as far as I understand....

At least that's what they say of K-1's traveling with their USC Petitioner... that the USC takes them with them to the USC/LPR Line.

Miami is a mess... I don't believe that 3 hours is enough... Secondary inspections are usually very busy as it is a major port for processing cruise line crewmembers, which all require secondary... And the immigration lines are very long... Especially in the American Airlines terminal.
