What would be the basis of an application for a Green Card?

What reform?

In 2004 I was here the first time on J1 visa, finished work and went back to my homeland. In 2008 I came with a F1 visa, finished school and I stayed.

I have been working full time since 2011, tax by W2. Not in any field that included in STEM.

Single, no child, no dependent.

Once a while I pop in here to find some answers, one day and hopefully soon I do want to be legalized, and with the reform news comes up and down its kind of... seductive.

Ha, marriage, not in this convenient fashion I won't.

Good luck with that reform. It might happen sooner or later. No one knows. I personally don't see it happening anytime soon.

There is no reform.

Only path for you to be legal is marriage to a US citizen.

No one is suggestin OP find someone to marry.

He is already here illegally. He wants to know how to become legal. He was given information as to the only way it is possible under US laws.

No said he should go find someone to marry.

Some Visa are very restricted and if you over stay , there's no chance to change status and here's some of them

Student Via, K1 Visa, Crew men visa.

In K1 if you over stay and didn't get married there's no chance of you getting a green card, as well as the student and crewmen visa, no chance at all, unless you go home and file a waiver.

A student visa overstay can adjust as the Immediate Relative of a USC.

A K-1 overstay can adjust when married to the K-1 petitioner. Not everyone gets marry within the 90 days under the K-1.
