There are different regulations for every country, e.g. if you are from Germany you can stay 90 days without a visa (as a tourist). DO NOT overstay!!!!! Also, maybe you really should meet (not only once....) before you even consider a K1 process.

If your plan is to get a tourist visa and overstay, I am pretty sure the Consulate will see through you and deny the visa.

How long can I stay in USA with tourist visa?

- The time period to stay in the US with tourist visa depends on the officer at the immigration. There are no exact answers.

.

also im gonna apply for fiance visa and would like to know what would happen if i over stay in USA

- If I'm not mistaken, you cannot apply for a fiance visa once you're already in the US, that is for those who's waiting aboard, but you can get married with USC then adjust your status to permanent resident. What would happen if you overstayed? Umm .. Nothing really if no one reports you and if you guys really plan to get married. But you said above that both of you still want to get to know each other more. So, what if you overstayed and found out that he wasn't the right one? Then you would have to go home and you wouldn't be able to apply for a visa for years. And even after years pass, you might still not get a visa also because they have all your records.

It's risky and I don't recommend to overstay but decision is yours to make :)

Did you need a tourist visa when you visited US before? If so, the CBP officer normally would write the maximum length of your stay on the passport stamp. Or you can also check your I-94 online, if it was not written on your passport. As Aaron2020 said, it's all up to the discretion of the immigration officer. For a tourist (B) visa, it's max of 6 months. It could be lesser, and of course, don't forget that the officer can also deny anybody of entry as well.

If you are a citizen of a VWP country (http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/visit/visa-waiver-program.html) and that you don't need to apply for a tourist visa to come to US, then it's max of 90 days.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have been to USA many times and they never put that stamp, interesting that a have a friend that went with me and they did stamp 6 months and nothing in mine, lol

What country are you from? How often have you been coming and how long have you stayed each time you were here? How many times have you been to the US and in what time period? How much time did you spend in your home country each time you left the US?
