I see you got the family car in the picture to. I had a boxer who sunk like a rock, but he learned to swim. Then he used to follow me around when I scuba dived.

That car is awesome, low maintenance! Dachshunds make lousy swimmers, one end floats and the other sinks

Boxers are lousy swimmers too, they have zero buoyancy and just plain sink. First time my boxer found natural water he leaped in and sunk to the bottom of the stream. He didn't even try to swim! My daugher had taken him to the nature preserve. She had to jump into the water and fetch his butt out before the current carried him away. About a year later, he was finally coaxed into learning to swim by watching another dog. After he learned he loved the water, but swimming was always a lot of work for him.

They're fantastic dogs as far as protecting their own. And yes, generally big saps to. Their issues is, they box you all the time. Paw to the face, paw to the nuts, paw catching the tablecloth and pulling an entire dinner off the table. They're one dog wrecking machines with those flying paws.

one dog wrecking machines. And they slobber all over. Those flappy jowls of theirs throws their saliva all over the place when they shake their heads. Drove my wife crazy when we fostered a boxer, and his saliva was ended up everywhere.
