Holy shite why did no one tell me about income-based repayments for student loans?

JEEEEEZZZUUUUSSSSS

Problem is that once you do income based repayment you are stuck with it and if your gross income goes up to whatever level, your payments will be higher than they would be on a normal 10 year plan. They also take in to account your spouse's income, etc. Be careful with what you choose.

Shouldn't you pay off the study loan asap to avoid interests accumulating?

That is my thoughts on it.

Okay bank of Nola, hit me up.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Wish I could help, but if we want to keep a comfortable reserve, I still have 14k left on my student loans. We are just going to suck it up and go max on paying them off.

I have a question.

I am not finding answers that make absolute sense to me.

My father has been doing work for years on cars.

More recently in the past year or so, he's been having a lot of shoulder pain.

He's gotten to the point where his doctor said he's unable to work any longer with what he has done for 30 years.

He went on "leave" at the end of april and just received diagnosis from his MRI that he needs surgery.

Does my dad qualify for some kind of disability so he's not out of a job and unable to pay bills?!

So it's social security insurance.

It's job related, but it's long term.

It isn't a single accidental incident.

It's just a toll that his job has taken on his body so he can't "prove" any one incident.

Nor, I assume, would he expect his employer to pay for.

Is that even any decent amount of money?

Several factors....

He's been working for 30 years....has he been paying social security for 30 years? If he maximized his contributions over the years. That amount is about 2400 a month, and any dependent a under 18 will collect a little....

The workmans comp portion. If he works for a legitimate shop with the proper insurance. He will collect also.

An alley mechanic will not be able to pay him.

So his workmans comp largely depends on who he's employed by

JW how does my disabled friend who is only 18 collect benefits when she is obviously only 18?

he doesn't work for a big name like midas or a hole in the wall.

he works at a decently sized shop in the city.

The amount of social security income is largely calculated on how much one has contributed to it in their lifetimes.

The maximum is about 2400 right now.

You friend could be collecting a hundred bucks for all you know.

As far as workmans comp, he will have to file just like your husband did. Remember?

And then there are other state and city benefits that you'll have to research on your own....because I dunno illing-nois..
