I am currently researching driver's license exams in Ohio and thinking of asking FIL to help me out. It seems he is willing to do things for me which is great.

Oh I got all that just having issues with paying for things but as I said...FIL seems to want to help me out so ya

ya I know....

I will need to talk to him...their cars are about to give out so I think teaching me to drive would not be a problem. I know the amounts are not that high for the fee and permit ...for some but for us or hubs...100 bucks is a loooot of money to spend on anything is why I haven't done it so far. I would also prefer taking a couple of lessons from certified instructor. *shrugs* will work it out.

There was a guy recently posting in some Fil/Am immigration fb groups with a gofundme for the immigration costs. It was not met with a very positive response when most of the people there are struggling with the expenses themselves.

If the gofundme is for immigration costs, I wouldn't donate to it

---> Because I believe if one has problems with feeding oneself living on poverty lines, then one shouldn't bring another one into this country to suffer.

I did donate to gofundme campaign before. It was for a rescue cat treatment. Someone found the poor abandoned cat out in the cold winter stuck to the ground and gave it to my facebook game friend to take care.

So I will donate to good cause.

I don't mind chipping in to help Jada a bit.

I think that when you are in love you want to just do anything you can to bring them here and usually fail to think logically about the future implications of that choice.

The system is not the best..I think I mentioned this before....in a number of cases, imo, people would have not gotten married if they had a choice of just dating for a couple of years but the distance makes it difficult and you end up spending a lot of money on flying to them or them to you, using up all your vacation time and it is just never enough time...and a lot of hassle.

it is not good to bring someone over without being able to pay for basic things sure but to most...it feels like the only option hoping that when they get here you both start working and eventually all will be well...

Also, people who are not really familiar with moving to other countries don't realize just how much needs to be done and how different it will be for their spouses until it is "too late" so to speak.

Is how I see it anyways and clearly I see this with the hubs to an extent as well, he wanted me here so he did not tell me certain things knowing i would not have come here...it was selfish sure but I can also understand why he did it....*shrugs*

I have the tendency to think they shouldn't myself. But then I have seen cases where the relationship has worked out well apparently. I think they're not as common as those that go into the trash though.

So I just got a knock on the door from the comcast lineman... I didn't call them, but for years it turns out they've been putting dampers on our line and not telling us that we had interference coming from our house. Guy just fixed it, but why not say something, yah know?

And something that simple messes with other people? Kind of glad I don't have cable. Comcast is the cable company in my area. When I bought there I made not of all the satellite dishes in the area. One call to comcast told me why people don't want to use them. I kept asking for a list of channels I'd get with different service plans and they refused to provide any, instead repeatedly danced around the question. There basic response was to get this plan and you'll love it. My response was I'm not going to get a damn thing from you people if you want a commitment from me, but won't commit to what I will get in return.
