Men like sandwiches. Americans like sandwiches.

On one of our trips to Ecu, Mrs. T-B. was regaling a gaggle of her hyskool girlfriends about her life in the Estados Unidos with her gringo husband. I couldn't understand much but was able to tell the subject matter. When she said, "On Sunday night, I make him sandwiches for his lunches Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday, and on Wednesday night I make him sandwiches for lunches Thursday-Friday," one of her amigas exclaimed "O dios mio!" (oh, my God).

Two construction workers ate lunch together every day. One would always open the lid of his lunch bucket and peer in expectantly, but his face would always fall and he'd mutter, "Nertz! Peanut butter again."

This went on for several weeks, and finally his buddy asked him, "Look, if you're so sick of peanut butter, why don't you ask your wife to make you something different for a change?"

"Oh, I'm not married," he said. "I make these at home every morning, myself!"

Anyone else worry about ROC?

I've got the wife's ROC sent off on April 1. I think its pretty darn complete and we should have no issues. We did not lack for the type of evidence they supposedly look for.

Good morning threaders :)

Finally got real internet...will be working on recipes for Saturday.

My friend and her bf got into a car accident last night...4 car pile up...seems like their car might be totaled...with him just having had a surgery on his leg that he broke in 7 places (takes a talent to do that ..poor guy)....and them moving to a new place...it is lucky I was there...managed to move everything before the accident so that is good.

mini-rant: omg they do not know how to pack properly... :rofl:

unpacked and organized their kitchen so far and now i am heating up some pizza in the oven so they know how to use it right :D

feeling great about being in pain from good work done (yes i am weird).

mmm coffee...missing almond milk though.

I can understand that. Hopefully, the situation can improve before that time gets here. But you're not the only case of a couple of limited means, living with parents that have gotten through the ROC.

Yes, I wonder about that too.

I have a feeling I will be alone by then. We filed taxes together, I am on his life insurance from work and he will be on my health insurance and I am on his bank account and what not. Granted, all went to hell pretty early but...that does not really change the fact we were in love when we got married so I am not worried much honestly but who knows.

I can understand that. Hopefully, the situation can improve before that time gets here. But you're not the only case of a couple of limited means, living with parents that have gotten through the ROC.

all should be much more settled within a year. Its been 8 months only. By the time ROC rolls around...stuff might be a lot different.

I am currently researching driver's license exams in Ohio and thinking of asking FIL to help me out. It seems he is willing to do things for me which is great.

  • Mortgage loan contract or lease contract with both partners’ names in it
  • Power of Attorney
  • Wills
  • Utility / Cable TV / Cell phone / Pets visit / Membership / Joint purchase bills
  • Life insurance policy showing spouse as beneficiary
  • Health insurance / Dental / Medical Bills
  • Car insurance
  • 401(K) account information showing spouse as beneficiary

2. Photographic Evidence


  • Photos of you two together
  • Photos of you two with family (such as wedding, parties, kids’ graduation, etc.)
  • Photos of you two in various locations and times

3. Other Evidence in Support of Bona Fide Marriage


  • Birth certificates of any children born to you together
  • Sworn affidavits of friends and/or family
  • Letters/cards from friends and/or family
