I had a bassett hound once who would steal the groceries as you were trying to put them away...turn your back and she'd knock the eggs off the counter and try and eat them. Leave a pizza out on the counter...gone. Bread on the counter - eaten.

Canadian tax return wasn't even close to what I was hoping for but at least it was a refund.

combined with the money left over from selling extraneous jeep parts (except for the side steps) we'll get some new camping gear. Tattoo will have to wait I guess.

Re gazebo:

I would say that it doesn't look that sturdy. I know the real ones are pricey, so I guess it is about what you want. We had a tent looking one like that, probably around the same price that while it kept the mosquitos out, wasn't that much used because it was kind of gross sitting on top of the dying grass and you just kind of felt like you were sitting in a tent.

If it goes up and comes down quickly and easily, and your family goes to a lot of outdoor events where having shade and a little protection from bugs, sun and light rain, they're great. This one looks like a real project to move. I'm not sure I'd invest that much money in one for just sitting in the yard unless you know its going to be used often. Leaving them in the sun all the time, tends to wear them out pretty darn fast, and if its hardly going to be used, its a waste.

Mrs. T-B. is frustrated that Mini-B. & his little friends have no shade on the back patio. She investigated building an awning, but even the potential builders of Questionable Legal Presence quoted insanely high prices. We had a rather large umbrella out there, but it kept flying out of its base and ultimately got shredded. I dunno of any other options, no man.

Today I got my first ever senior discount for lunch

In just about Many days, I'll qualify for some of these, whee man, in addition to the same at some of the resale shops, whee man. However, I must avail myself of the latter only on Wednesdays or Fridays (depending), and we are still working, sigh man.

They asked if I get the senior discount, I said what age is that, they said 55 and I replied not until Friday, so they gave it to me early.

This actually happened to me, several months ago. I was in a resale shop and asked the age for the senior discount. They said, "Many." I said, "Ooo! Ooo!" and they gave it to me, even though I was less than Many, whee man.

need to find an efficient way to prepare j's lunches...sometimes dinner leftovers aren't good for lunch (like if i cook something that is meant to be eaten right away and goes soft or dries up after a few hours). anyone got some quick and easy lunch recipes to recommend?

Mrs. T-B. would say (and has said), "The maid has left. Make your own lunches."

i sent him off with a sandwich today and felt kind of bad, like it took almost no effort to slap a few pieces of bread together and throw some meat and veg in between.

Ah, newlyweds, sigh man. Just wait till you're grizzled with marriage, as are we.

(Uh, actually, Mrs. T-B. started her routine rather soon after marriage, sigh man.)

Dinner could be pasta, ravioli, lasagna, curries with rice, quinoa dishes, enchiladas ....etc
