but - are you putting stuff in the icebox after supper ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I make dinner and take whatever leftovers for lunches the next day. No complaints from hubs.

Dinner could be pasta, ravioli, lasagna, curries with rice, quinoa dishes, enchiladas ....etc

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

yesterday i made pasta sauce from scratch...it had to be eaten within like an hour or it would start to thicken/dry up, worse if it went in the fridge. if i gave him leftover sauce (although there wasnt any) for lunch, he'd have bone dry pasta.

i haven't made any curries yet because i haven't found cloves and cardamom yet. i know where to get them, but it's a bit of a drive so gotta wait for j's day off (tomorrow, yay!) if i made curry, he'd be eating it for a week :P

i'm doing something wrong here...it's the kind of food i'm cooking (not meant to be stored as leftovers) and amount (not making enough for there to be leftovers in the first place). i could try making fried rice/noodles more often as that stores up so easily...but it's not very healthy either :\

lasagna sounds like it might keep and reheat well!

i'll try it.

need to find an efficient way to prepare j's lunches...sometimes dinner leftovers aren't good for lunch (like if i cook something that is meant to be eaten right away and goes soft or dries up after a few hours). anyone got some quick and easy lunch recipes to recommend?

You could also cook tortilla soup, lentil soup .. etc whatever soups if Jonas likes them.

If you making sandwiches, you could also add fruits or yogurt to the brown bag.

i sent him off with a sandwich today and felt kind of bad, like it took almost no effort to slap a few pieces of bread together and throw some meat and veg in between.

he does have a microwave...and there is a cooler where he could store food.

Men like sandwiches. Americans like sandwiches.

that is what i was struggling with. :P the asian in me goes...'but it's just...bread!'

gotta break out of the rice + 2-3 side dishes mentality.
