can I call for status

Hello everyone,

I sent my husband's removal of conditions packet last week (4/24) and have not received anything in the mail yet. I did track the package and it was delivered two days later. The reason I am worried is because my husband plan to travel out of the country this upcoming week preferably, if not the following week and his CR-1 visa does expire before he would enter the USA. Basically he needs the receipt from uscis that extends his GC for one year while we are removing conditions. I thought we would have this by now since its been over a week. Is there anyway I can call uscis and check on the status of the receipt/notice and when we can expect to have it in hand? Also has anyone had any trouble traveling with the receipt/notice (not sure if its just a piece of paper), I cant help to be nervous about him running into issues ar the airport if his visa is expired on his passport. Is the receipt/notice official looking?

06/05/2012 - Green card arrived
06/15/2012- Back to SS office with green card to reapply and inquire about delay
06/18/2012 - Picked up SSN at SSA office
06/22/2012 - SS card arrived by mail

04/24/14 - Sent I-751 to remove conditions

06/09/14 - Biometrics

11/2014 - RFE from USCIS requesting more evidence before approval

Late Jan - Sent further evidence of marriage

03/05/2015 - Got letter of approval for removal of conditions

03/15/2015 - Permanent 10 yr green card received via mail

They can't provide you anything without a receipt number (inside biometrics appointment.) Vermont is known for backlog so all you need to do is to be patient. It is only a week, you will receive it soon.

Also he will have to appear for biometrics appointment which is very important,its better to wait for both letters and then make travel plans.

Just a friendly reminder, even after biometrics, he might be called again if FBI can't read his fingerprint capture. So be careful to make trip plans right after biometrics appointment.
