No; it was just the wrong graph for what's being discussed. It showed the U3 unemployment rate, widely derided as an inaccurate way to gauge unemployment. My graph showed employment / population.

Here's a graph that explains a good bit of the declining employment / population ratio. Take a look at what happens to the 65+ crowd starting in 2010 - sharp increase. What do you think that sharp increase of 65+ year olds both in total numbers as well as percentage of the population does to the employment / population ratio?
