Yes. Also when you apply for your AOS you will receive a SS Card and EAD, normally you receive these BEFORE your interview date. At that point you can get a joint bank account with your husband, joint Credit card etc...In time for your interview and have more primary evidence to show them then.

QueenComley I got a little confused here when you mentioned " you will receive a SS card and EAD" I thought we will received the EAD and with that document one can apply for DL, State ID and SS number/card. For that we have to go in person to the local offices to apply for those cards. Am I wrong?

In my case I already have a SS card and DL and would have to update names on both once I receive EAD. For my SS card I will have removed the notation " Employment only with ISN authorization" and I will be able to renew DL once it expires this year.

Since you already have SSN and DL, it would be best to wait for GC to make changes. Using the EAD will still have a temporary immigration status notification.

Since EAD is for the purpose to get employment..right? then I will need the legend on my SS card saying " Employment only with INS authorization" . My DL will more likely be expired by the time of the interview and I need a valid ID by then. I don't see why wait for GC to make this changes.

My initial understanding is just for the purpose of acquiring SSN and DL. And since you already have both, I suggested to wait. But since it's also for name change, it's best to do it as soon as you can.

So anyone know how to organize so many papers and supporting documentation?Do i need ACCO fasteners or heavy clips,or staple? If anyone can tell me based on their experience i will appreciate.
