I am new to the forum. VJ is a wonderful site. .It has helped me a lot all through the process.I received my NOA2 recently on April 25th. I have a question. Please forgive if its silly . When I initially sent my I-129 F package, on the declaration of meeting I wrote me and my fiancée first met online via yahoo messenger, but didn't detail how... This is actually how. My fiancée had seen my matrimonial ad in a newspaper and he contacted my dad via email id provided in the ad. My dad responded . Then they talked over the phone and my dad provided him with my email id. We both added each other to yahoo and that's how we first met on yahoo and talked. Would that be a issue as I didn't mention it on initial package and if my fiancée say this at his interview?

Oh no..i dint lie..we first met thru yahoo.before that he was talking to my dad expressing his interest.i was not involved there.only after my dad gave my email id to him, we added each other and saw online.thats how we first saw.

You didn't outright lie, you just withheld some truth. You did accurately describe how you first met, just not the entire circumstances that led to it. In this matrimonial ad context, it may be considered suspicious.

Your minor omission should will likely NOT be considered so serious as long as the story fits together and there wasn't deliberate intention to defraud. The US government is trying to prevent deliberate and intentional applicants whose sole intention is to get a visa illegally and do NOT have a bona fide relationship. Most important is to be honest and prepared to answer all questions. I suggest you compose a comprehensive timeline of your meeting with dates in the left margin, and a short description of what happened to the left of it.

Thankyou for your replies. I will be honest and say exactly what happened at interview.like you said,i had prepared a timeline with date on left and explanation on the Right with proof of ad and emails sent to and fro between him and my dad.will have my fiancee take it for interview.
