IF you really want to know the truth, I do not post on VJ for arguments. I post of VJ to read people's views on certain issues and because it helps me to cope with my visa journey. I assumed that most of the people, not all, but most of the people on here are well traveled and educated. With that being said, no argument, just a discussion. How does seeing this statute make you feel? You pointed it out. Would you have a problem with it if you were attending this university. I really don't post for arguments, I am not an argumentative person, although I can be very outspoken about my views.

I am not a religious person so this has no effect on me.. I think this might be a useful tool for a forced discussion on separation of church and state and the religious symbols that we have as part of our lives everyday. A best case scenario from my (very biased) point of view would be a secular state with no religious adornments as part of government..

Having said that I grew up in the US surrounded with Christian symbols so they are part of my life - any attachment I have to seeing them on government property is due to traditional sentiment so in all honesty there is a pang of .. discomfort.. in seeing them go.. But I can understand how someone from another religious background might be taken aback from their presence.
