I'm not sure an import would work - ultimately the search engines will often rank on the relevance of the data - so the other place got listed first because of the sheer volume and wealth of data. That will continue once it is back up. Over time this place would grow - but people will be asked stuff over there... so I am guessing "we" will pop over there because that is where the action will be.

Then there is this forum in terms of scale. Coping will with a few hundred or even a few thousand hits. What if that grows. Is the owner of the site prepared/motivated to cope with that growth. If not, this will become unstable. Remember the other place blew up on the morning of May 1. Basically all the extra traffic blew it up - and I'm guessing they decided to try and upgrade it since it was unable to be bought back up safely at that level of demand.

Anyhow.. like you say, at least we have a nice shelter in the storm - and it is lovely to be filled with friendly faces....

This site may not be very active on DV but it is very large in other categories and if you look at the wikis etc at the top - for the "average" (ie nonDV ) immigrant I think this has much more going on than the other place. Also, they have moderators who seem to actually care about what is going on. And better smilies :dance:

One of the things this site has btw that many might find interesting is the embassy and POE reviews.

She is here incognito. I figured it out from the visa type she quoted (very clever clue Mom). I'm not sure if she is trying to keep a low profile... but she also revealed herself as a fan of old silly britcoms.

LOL - I'm not so sure she is a fan! She has (more than once) had to step in when I have overstepped my intelligence (as have you). She has been very patient with me though....

I am so happy my peeps are here. This whole process has been so stressful for me. I don't know how I would cope without you all. Seriously. (L)

I am comforted by seeing a DV15 OC CN of 20xx- that's got to mean something good right???? They must think they can process an OC CN that high and the DV14 numbers weren't a giant stuff up??? Maybe I still have a chance. I lost hope after last months VB. So its nice to feel some optimism again :goofy:

I think the 55k bit is very important - that does indeed give some hope (since it confirms the NACARA theory).

Now we just need KFC to get the hell on with the VB movement!
