Hi everyone!

First of all, let me say how excited I am that I have recieved my NOA2. I was literally in disbelief at how quickly it happened!

But a little back ground first. I met my fiance in China in 2011 when I went there to work. We dated for 11 months, before I went to Taiwan to study Chinese. We were apart for 7 months, then I went to visit for 10 days. After that visit, we decided that we wanted to get married. I looked for a job in China and Taiwan and couldn't find anything worthwhile so eventually came back to the States. This time, we were apart for 9 months before I was able to visit him this past January for two weeks.

I started working on our K-1 in October 2013 and ultimately decided to go with an Visa Service office in San Francisco (I'm from the Lake Tahoe area). They are much cheaper than lawyers, and although they can't give you legal advice, they have a lot of experience in what information is needed and have people running information to the embassy daily.

However, as you all know, the G-325a requires an original signature from both parties... And even though, my fiance sent an envelope with the papers in November from China, I still, to this day, have not received this paperwork or the care package that he sent at the same time. :(

We decided just to wait until January, when I was able to visit him, and thought that since I would be meeting his entire family for Chinese New Year's, it would also be useful to include pictures from the trip as well.

I returned to the States at the beginning of February and thought, we can file! But... He was still missing one birth document, separate from his birth certificate. (So happy that the visa service center caught that!) Needless to say, this document took 2 months for the Chinese government to finally issue to him!

I sent the last bit of paperwork to the office in San Francisco 3/26/14. UCSIS received it 4/7 and approved it 4/21! In two weeks!!!! Now, you can probably understand why I was in disbelief when I received my NOA2 4/28.

I fully anticipated waiting another 5-7 months for our petition to be approved, and to be honest, although we are both fully committed to each other, we are both tired of our long distance relationship.

I'm still having a hard time processing it, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop-- which I know is terrible, but we both have had such bad months lately, its been hard for me to stay positive...

Anyway, thanks for reading through this!

Now that it's on to the next waiting game, I wanted to know what the next steps following the NOA2 is and what to expect.

Any advice and tips would be appreciated and welcome!

Wow, congrats!

My then-fiance (my now husband) filed I-129F for me after we dated over 5 years. We were lucky got approved in 38 days without RFE and total amount of time from I-129F to visa in hand is 143 days. My advise is, go to the portal of US embassy in China here on VJ and there are a lot information you can find there including reviews after NOA-2. I can't give any suggestion since each consulates/embassy has their own requirement.

Thanks for all the congratulations! :)

I'm super happy, grateful and surprised that we were able to get approved so quickly!

Granted I started working on our paperwork more than five months before we filed, so we have been waiting for a while, but it still great news.

I feel for all the couples that are still waiting for their NOA2, I fully anticipated being in the same boat. Please don't give up! We have to remember that all this waiting is worth it in the end!

@Siana-- I believe after the NOA2, your case gets sent to the National Visa Center, NVC, where they process and send to the embassy in your fiancee's country, then your fiancee receives a packet that they have to fill out and complete before they can sign up for an interview. However, I heard from different people that the process once it's in your fiancee's country may vary, so it is best to check out the forums specifically on the country you are working with. Hope that helps!
