Resuming visa processing at consular post

Hello there.

I've been wandering in VJ's forums since a long time by now, it has been really helpful for getting in touch with this immigration madness, I want to begin here thanking everybody that spends his/her time here, and contributes to the knowledge and welfare of all.

I finally decided to create an account because I have a particular concern about how my visa process will continue, and Internet just doesn't point me in any direction other than general information.

My father, a US citizen, petitioned me back in august of the last year, I've been approved in early march and recently my dad went to an appointment with immigration services and he told me that the inmigration officer said that my case was already accepted and in the course of 30 - 60 days, a letter from the consulate should arrive to my domicile to resume visa process.

I know this can be done, but I wanted to ask someone from Guayaquil, Ecuador, or anybody that can give some faith about this and how the process is made, I mean the petitioner can select to continue process abroad? or the immigration officer just disposes the case to there, regardless if is already at NVC?

Thank you in advance for any kind response to this topic. :)

My best regards. :D
