As a white guy I can honestly tell you that I have no memory in the last 20 years in which I ever heard or personally witnessed a non-black person use the N-word in the workplace, public, or private. I have however heard blacks use the word countless times.

And as a black man, I've been called that as early as last week by a white guy. When my sons and I play PS3 online, there's always that group of white people that have to let it be known they use the word. How do I know they're white? Because the black guys that use it use the word with an a at the end of it. And when I say stop using it, they assume I'm white. After I establish that I am black, and using that word gives anyone else an excuse to use it against us, they apologize and stop using it. A few of the gamers on my list have thanked me personally for breaking their habit. But the white guys who use it? They put the er on the end of it and when I ask them to stop using it, they laugh and keep on. I've deleted a few people from my list because of it.

The web is becoming a chicken-shitte forum in which cowardly brain-dead people say and do things they would never do in public. As a conservative, I can tell you that I don't like what I see in much of social media and reader comments these days. While I believe that Americans should be free to express their opinions about whatever they like, it may become necessary to control the media from racially charged speech and personal threats.

I'm on the fence about how that can be done, because it can easily go to far and end up shredding our precious Constitution.
