Considering that they are asking for a new visa application, (DS260 is a visa application.) then they have not made a "final" decision on the visa. Unless something on your new application conflicts with the DS230 you submitted earlier, I would expect visa issuance shortly after complying with this request.

In Jordan the ds260 just became mandatory this April so I am thinking it just a precaution? or maybe because the ds260 expires after a year? I don't know what's your thought ?

The DS-230 because obsolete September 1st. So just give them what they want. The faster you do the faster you get a Visa hopefully.

I think you should be happy! At least they are moving forward with your visa application from AP.... Send them what ever they want! Best of luck! It will be great if you complete your timeline so we can get an idea what to expect from Amman embassy! Thanks!

Jordan has been 100% electronic for over 2 years, when my husband sent his application in over 2 years ago they weren't accepting the ds230 anymore.

To the OP, just give them an updated ds260 and you should get your visa soon. They are looking for updated everything because you were in AP so long.

the ds 230 is the same as ds260 but the ds230 is a paper form and this April the ds260 replaced it in Jordan.

It's not actually the exact same form but they are both the visa application.

Either way, Jordan has used electronic processing and online forms for quite a bit longer than the rest of the world bar a few countries.

If this would be a second DS260, then it is just an update. If it is consistent with the first other than things like an address or job change, all should be well.
