I hope I am in the right forum.

I would be soon traveling to India alone with my 1 year old baby for a 10 day visit. I am still an Indian Citizen with 10 year Permanent residency (Green card) for US. My baby boy is US citizen by birth. My husband who is a US citizen won't be traveling with us and I am wondering if I need to carry my baby's birth certificate for travel purposes or not, also any other letters or anything other than his US passport and his valid Visa for India.

Thanks a lot for any help.

To travel to Mexico you need passport (US passport for baby) visa if you need one to go to India ( in our case is just a form), they may ask for a consent letter from the father allowing the baby to travel

Have a letter of consent from your husband stating it's okay for you to travel with the child. Include your full name and passport number (even A# if you want too), his full name, and the child's full name and passport number, where you will be staying, and the duration of your stay. Easy to get it notarized most often at UPS but depends on your state requirements for a notary.

I would get 2 copies made and keep one in your bags in case CBEC takes the copy you show them if they ask for it. That way you will ensure you have a copy with you when you return to the USA.

Mine always says: to whom it may concern : at the top vs directed at anyone in particular.

BTW my ex and I use these all the time for travel with our daughter. He needs my consent to travel outside of Canada and both of ours for her to travel on her own to visit me.

Thanks a bunch!!
I will make sure to have two copies of notarized letter and also baby's birth certificate.

Traveling alone on a 26 hour plane ride with a very active toddler is going to be fun fun!!
