K1 Visa question?

I want to marry my girlfriend soon. She has a ten year multiple entry US visa. I know that I need to apply for a K1 Visa for her, but wouldn't it make sense for us to file the paperwork once she's with me ( temporarily ). I realize that she will have to go back home to finish the paperwork, but CBP has always stamped her passport for a six month stay in the past, and I think this would be the best way so we don't have to spend much time apart. Am I right?

I'm guessing I don't need an attorney for the K1 and can just use VisaJouney.com for guidance?

Once she has the I-129 petition opened for her, she might start getting a harder time entering. Much depends on the country she's coming from and where she's entering, as some never run into the issue at all.

Your plan is fine. While she is here on the sox month stay you two can file and hope that the NOA2 is obtained within that time and then she goes back to do the medical and the interview.

Unless you have very weird circumstances or bad past history with the USCIS, VJ is all you need. It's not that hard.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
