Got back Tuesday from 11 days in Trece Martires. Spent most of it running around wedding planning.

I got lucky and my flight took off an hour before Obama landed so no delays!

Appointment went well at the embassy for the Legal Capacity to Marry document. Took about 90 min in all. Brought the divorce documents and of course they never bothered asking for them.

Number called, went to window, handed a form to fill out five blocks. Don't sign, go pay $50 a the cashiers and bring it all back here (don't wait in line). That took 4 minutes. Handed it back in and waited for my number to come up at window 3. Raise hand, swear document is true, embassy official signs and done. Maybe 70 Americans on the second floor and looking down below had to be 300 filipinos waiting. I wouldn't suggest not having your divorce documents there, but no one was asked for them while I was waiting.

Spent the rest of the week planning the wedding. Really shocked how inexpensive it can be if you spend some time planning it out instead of hiring someone. We are getting married August 2nd in Trece Martires with reception to follow at the Metro Police hall in General Trias. Food, Hall, decorations for 130 was 45,000P, can add the Lechon baboy I was drooling over for another 5000P :)

Honeymoon to follow in Palawan. Then the paperwork fun begins :)

Can't wait!!!!

Seems like you had an awesome time from your last visit in PH.

Best wishes in advance and have an enjoyable stay in Palawan thereafter. I hope you get a chance to visit El Nido or Coron as well ( Palaweña here).

Cheers! :dancing:
