Your last question doesn't make sense. You can't have an interview without your number being current, so it is impossible for someone with a higher CN to have a visa. Unless you mean where they stated "current" and then compared to the previously published cut off, yes of course, otherwise they would not have changed the cutoff number. If you are confused from seeing posts by those people who cannot read what is plainly stated in the visa bulletin about what current means, be assured I know someone AF97xxx who received a visa, and AF has only reached those numbers (so far) when the bulletin has switched to "current".

As for your chances, no idea. Keep watching the visa bulletin for this year. We hear KCC are aiming to get EU numbers to current, and if they manage to do it this year it will be very positive for DV2015 as there are fewer winners for 2015.

That bit about KCC trying to get EU current I have missed that! Is it a credible source?

It was the lady of kcc! She told franko that ...

Franko: btw I think dv13 had 35k cn if I'm not mistaking !

I'm not an official or an attorney!

Its all about a guess work...

I'm just a DVHOLIC :)

I hope that this is true, and people with high CN have been interviewed. But you told me about only one such case, one AF CN. I would like to hear about more such examples.

FFS, what makes you think everyone on these boards knows everyone who has been interviewed?

Tell me something. You seem to understand English perfectly well. Why do you not seem to understand what "current" means when the visa bulletin explains it in plain English?

But hey, if you want to spend the next 18 months stressing about nothing, good luck to you.

As Vladek said, Franko reported that; although he wasn't entirely convinced, having previously been told there would be a big jump in June (I think) when there wasn't.

Absolutely true that!!!

The lady sounded serious enough to get my attention. Was answering questions in a calm manner, no emotion really - just stated the fact.

On the other hand, the trainee (very young person, struggling to formulate one single sentence without stuttering) that I asked about meaning of current said that "based on previous months" he would assume 4k jump.

In all fairness this could mean absolutely nothing and everything. Who knows. Maybe EU will stop completely (couple hundred CNs in August and September).

I am preparing for all possibilities. Won't celebrate till I see in the bulletin that I arrived in FRANKYNUMBERVILLE!!! :)

Ahh yeah I saw that... But I remember thinking the KCC ladies would be as surprised as many here about the reality of DV2014 compared to other years...

I understand the deffinition for the current. What I dont understand is why noone is giving big chances of winning for my CN (DV2015 EU 43k). Also there are many who are saying that there are no chances at all. But statistics show that from 2006 till 2013 all years ended up in CURRENT which means that all CNs won.

Well that's a completely different question to what you were asking.

In DV2014 there have been 40% more winners than the average of the years you mention chosen, for the same amount of available visas, which most years the previous # of winners could easily reach the quota. That is why there is the concern about high case numbers.

Hey Guys,

Quick question about the timing.

We submit the DS260 on may 19 as instructed. How long after that do we know IF / when our interview will be? Are these confims sent out on an on going basis?

Is this confirm of interview emailed or posted to us?

In a case where we are not selected...will we be informed of this too?

I know these are basic questions but Id appreciate not being hammered about it even so.

The date of your interview will depend on your case number. Watch the visa bulletin (relevant ones for DV2015 will start to be published in August) to see when your case number will be current. A few days after the relevant visa bulletin is published for you, let's say (I have no idea what your number is so this is an example) your number is published as being current for January, you will find this out in November. Around mid-November you would receive an email from KCC telling you to check the same website you checked to see you won - the email itself will not have any interview or other details, but the website will. If you do not become current, I guess you just never get that website update.

People don't get hammered for basic questions. Some people get an adverse reaction when people spend time trying to help and answer questions and these responses just get ignored,or when they don't bother reading answers properly and asking the same thing repeatedly.

I have AS000029xx from Asia, how much chance you think I have?

Your number is very good indeed. You will get an interview date - pretty early on in the process. ASsuming you have met all the requirements and completed the forms correctly, you'll get the visa.
