I changed my passport for job description, shall I ask kcc to reopen the ds 260 for me? Or i just take with me my old passport??

I dont think it is problem, but still you can change your passport detail, so you can request kcc to re-open your case.

Hi All, I already read a lot about the DV lottery, and thought I had it figured out. Since I'm getting married in October I'm waiting to fill my DS260 until I am married. Because, as I understand, as long as there is enough time between your expected interview month and end of the fiscal year you'll be ok. Now I came across something a consular officer said. Read question 1 on this page: http://www.dvlottery...stions-answers/

He implies if you don't submit your DS260 early enough you might not get a chance. Now the guy asking the question has a low CN but still...

My CN is EU33XXX by the way (interview expected around June). What are your thoughts about this?

It means they think they have enough visas for everyone left so everyone who has sent in forms gets scheduled.

But it can still be a problem if they have miscalculated and run out of visas before end September.

So far I have only heard of this particular situation happening for countries that reach the 7% cut off - Iran and Bangladesh have both experienced having remaining interviews cancelled during September

For DV as a whole the situation seems to be that if they think they will run out of visas they have cut offs right to the end of the fiscal year - something we have not seen since before the financial crisis.

Hi Susie

I'm from Iran and my number is AS6XXX. Now I'm getting nervous that I won't get an interview as the asia is moving so slow for the past few months!

By a country reaching 7% cut off.. do you mean that there's a chance they'd get all 7% from Iran before it reaches my number? I checked the visa bulletin for 2014 and 2013, I saw for 2014 August it's written Asia: 12,700 except: Nepal.

Is this how I'd find out if Iran has reached 7%?

Iran has only ever once reached the 7% limit but no, this isn't usually how you find out (the limited countries like that are done to slow their interviews down as they have huge numbers of entrants/selectees) - the process is done so that if the country limit is reached it will almost certainly only be in September, and then what will happen is more likely that any remaining interviews or outstanding applications (eg unresolved AP) are informed they are cancelled. This happens rarely - I'm aware of it having happened once with Iran, and once with Bangladesh when it was still eligible.

Am I the only one here from South America? (Chile)

My CN is SA105x i thought May VB was going to be my turn, but the number didn't change at all from the last VB:

April: 1025

May: 1025

Is it normal? When do you think I'm gonna have my interview? Thanks!!!
