How many selectees there were for DV2014? 125k like this year, right? So it should be nearly the same for DV2015...

There were 140k selectees. The other difference is that Nigeria was eligible for DV2014 but not DV2015.

So what's the impact on Asia now that we know that there's no current for AS in 2014 and that the highest number for Sept is 13,350. Based on this new fact, what are the new revised analytics for DV2015.

My number is at the higher end of AS16xxx. I'm starting to think game over for me...

Again, I'm gonna reply to myself.

In DV 2013 they selected 15,885 from AS and it went current in Aug and Sept.

In DV 2014 they selected 23,270 from AS and the highest number is 13,350.

In DV 2015 they selected 20,002 from AS. I think the highest number will be around 18K given the fact that we now have DS-260 and to make it up for AS from the previous year. Because Iran and Nepal took around 7K and the rest of AS only had 6,350.

Is my theory right?

I don't see why DS260 would make much difference. It might mean more initial responses but outweighed by a higher no-show rate later.

The last big game changer I would think of for Asia was when Bangladesh fell out of the lottery. Which also makes relying on history for Asia a bit unreliable, and the last few years are not exactly...normal. DV2013 probably most "normal" of those.

I believe this will cause higher cut-off numbers. They also need to make it up for AS in 2015 as 2014 was not good.

It looks like they opted to 140K selectees to avoid the Current situations in Aug and Sept but they ended up with lower cut-off numbers. In 2015 the number of selectees is 15K less, so yes, the rules of the game are constantly changing.

Hi all,

first of all great forum, very informative

My DV2015 case number is 2015EU00040XXX

I asked a few days ago about the number and was told that it's very high

so I might not get an interview because of the high case number, but I read here that the highest for EU is 47XXX

so I'm asking do I need to give up hope completely or I have a chance? And if I do have a chance when do you think I might

be interviewed?

I must also admit that I tried to figure out the visa bulletin but I don't understand it no matter how hard I tried.

Can anyone explain it to me in a few words?

Thanks

Without meaning to sound dismissive, the visa bulletin has been explained a few times here, can you try do a search?

The number is high if judging by this year, but no-one can say for sure at this stage what your chances for interview are. If it happens it seems likely to be right near the end of the fiscal year though, August or September 2015.

Ok, so for DV2015 there "should" be fewer people left out...

I hope so.. My CN is 13,6xx.... 2014 is by far one of the worst dv..

Why would you give up? This year's current cutoff for Europe is 40150 however some people think that may be increased this week. Is your number above or below this? You're very close.

Interview in August next year.
