Hey!

I won the 2015 lottery with what I thought a super low number but after reading through this forum its super high?! OC000021xx

I see people keep saying to look at the visa bulletin, can someone explain how to read/interpret the information. Its a bunch of numbers that mean diddly squat to me right now, but I would like to get a handle on it.

I guess i'm also left wondering why this part of the world seem to have to wait until late 2015 for interviews? Why is that the case?

Hi! Wait for July 2014. There will newsletter in September. If a similar number in 2014 will get an interview. Then you too will fall in September 2015.

In the visa bulletin scroll down till you get to the diversity visa section. You will see they have, each month, numbers that are current for that month and the next one (though they are released the month before so: in May, the June bulletin will be released, and for DV it will have numbers for both June and July.) if your number is below the cut off number for your region you will be scheduled an interview in that month, provided that your DS260 has been returned to KCC and has been processed in time.

I'm not sure what you mean by that "part of the world" having to wait for late 2015. Cases are ranked by numbers and every region has interviews every month, progressing to the higher numbers through the fiscal year. So people with low numbers will get interviews at the start of the FY, ie Oct 2014, and progressively through to Sept 2015. This happens irrespective of what region you are in, though different regions will progress at different paces. There is a risk for higher numbers in that visa numbers may be exhausted before they get their turn, as the program ends either on Sept 30 or once the 50k visa allocation has been made. If this happens then sept numbers for one or more regions will still have a cutoff rather than showing "current" which means all numbers can interview. It has been a long time since visas were exhausted however - although for DV2014 there have been way more selectees than usual so it is a risk for this year, less so for DV2015.

Yes a chance. Europe is currently at 40150 for DV14 with one more month to go. It'll probably go up by another ~4000 for September and finish at around 44000 or 45000.

This is just my opinion but check the next visa bulletin and you'll have a good idea of what to expect next year.

Even if it finishes below that, don't lose heart. You are very very close and the numbers move up and down every year like the ocean.

My CN is EU 44***. I just saw the upcoming August bulletin for DV2014. Discouraging... (

Still there is hope as for 2015 they chose less winners.

I saw on this forum once someone posted a link to a chart with all visa bulletin numbers for EU for each month for the like last 10-15 years. Can anyone please help me find it? That chart gave a really good estimative picture cause you could have all results in one place and it was very easy to compare them.

p.s. by the way, is the highest reported DV2015 EU CN about 47*** ??? Or there are still higher CN reports?

I have just seen the upcoming visa bulletin for august (DV2014).

Cut-offs numbers for EU are identical for August and for September (40150). Does this mean that this year EU region is not going to end up to current?
