I'm not sure but I think they won't actually start doing anything until biometrics are done :( I could be wrong, however

I think that's why a lot of people try to do early walk ins to speed it up a bit

who knows

Our lawyer contacted us this week that we got RFE. USCIS didnt think my birth certificate was a birth certificate since in Finland we dont have them the same way as in the US. And it's really dumb because it even says on the government webiste here http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/fees/reciprocity-by-country/FI.html what form I have to use as a birth certificate from Finland. And that is exactly what I used!!! I hope the RFE doesnt make my process go a lot slower... Luckily our lawyer was fast at responding to the USCIS and the response should have already been received by the USCIS on Thursday.

I guess all I can do is keep my fingers crossed that everything goes well!

Good luck everyone :)

Just did biometrics, a very nice hour and 20 minute drive away, walked in to a very quaint, and to be honest, very cute little Helena office. Was greeted by a very nice security guard, who sounded like he was from the east coast. Asked me very politely to remove anything I had in my pockets, and asked if I had any weapons. Got through the gate, and was greeted by a worker in jeans and a tshirt (it is Montana after all), he asked me to fill out a very simple form, and invited me back to the biometrics area, which just looked and felt like a very small back office.

Got fingerprints taken, he said "oh looks like your thumb was burned at some point" and I explained to him that it has been dry and cracked for a while, and its been in lotion for the past 2 weeks. He just chuckled and continued to take my prints, and my photo. Got talking and I asked do you get a lot of people doing this here? He said, "oh yeah, we get about 20-30 a week"....had to give a chuckle on the inside.

Overall great experience, and extremely good and friendly service at the Helena office. I expected nothing less, this is Montana, the home of courtesy and politeness.

Glad to hear you had a nice and simple experience srvman ^^ glad your thumb didn't give you any problems

We was gonna try an early walk in today, but didn't end up going (I slept in too late! Shh! XD) and I also think I would rather wait til my appointment since it would only take a week off the time anyways which won't make all that much difference :P

Yeah it really doesn't make that much of a difference! I understand the sleeping in thing. Although I have to be up at 730 to drop off Stacy to work every morning (except recently because of expired license).

Ended up just driving down, and risking it. Stupid, I know, but it's done now.
