May 2014 AOS Filers

Please, I called USCIS this morning regards my AOS application, I had to wait for about 60 mins before I was connected to a strange voice, that sounds nothing like USCIS agent, this person can’t even speak proper English, no offence...???

Besides he told me I will have to wait 21 for my check to be clear? like?? Please, can you help me verify this number: 800-375-5283. Thanks

Yeah some of the people you get on the line can be really mean. When my husband called for me ages ago (I don't like talking on the phone much as it makes me nervous) a guy was extremely rude to him the second he picked up, but acted a lot different once he asked for his name and a supervisor, heh

But that's strange that you got someone who didn't speak English well. I'd assume they'd be required to know good English to work for them answering phones and stuff o.o

decided against driving down today, my friend is heading to Helena on the day of the apt, and he said I could tag along if I pay for half the gas, so it gives my thumb a little extra time.

I always seem to get Hispanic ladies when I call any visa related government service. I always imagine them filing their nails, smacking on gum, flicking through closer magazine when I call them.... the most impersonal experience on the phones I have ever received, and I have Sirius radio.

Haha! Reminds me of receptionists back in my doctors back in England. They glared at you if they had to look up from their hello! Magazine xD

I think my husband got some really angry guy. He answered the phone with an angry 'HELLO USCIS?????' and was angry from then on out. Must have been having a bad day or something !

Hello All,

It's nice to know there are quiet a few May filers here.

I sent my package on the 28th, and it was received on the 29th. The NOA1 came in on June 2nd (texts, emails and hard copies have all been received). Case is in Nebraska, so am keeping my fingers crossed for the Biometrics letter.

To be honest I am finding this process a lot more relaxing than the K-1. As long as I get my EAD, it really doesn't bother me how long a greencard will take.

I agree. I think it's because we get to be with our partners now as well which makes it a lot less difficult. Also there are less 'stages' to worry about.

Only thing about EAD is I wonder how hard it will be to find work. I only have GCSEs and a complete college course. But I'm guessing most places want a high school diploma ... I don't know if GCSEs will mean anything to employers here? Do I have to get them like converted or something or do I just have to grab a GED or somethin?

My still on Acceptance and I'm on the stage of waiting for my interview date to be schedule. So I'm waiting at this point to a surprise letter on my ?????????? I hope that will happen soon. I've see a some cases they already got the interview and still on Acceptance.
