Soo, I had my interview yesterday! It was really short and lame :D they didn't ask like anything! Only some basic info from me like name address date of birth etc.. Only asked for a copy of our marriage certificate. They didn't ask anything from my husband, not a single question! Also we didn't need to provide any evidence of our marriage which I was kinda mad about because we had spent a lot of time collecting all the evidence, printing pics, taking copies etc!

But I won't complain, because I was approved!

I wasn't approved on the spot though, the officer said he has to make sure my medical exam is ok because at the time of the interview my medical was older than a year. ( I did it last year in august for my K1), and it was still valid in May when I applied for AOS/EAD/AP so I was kinda freaking out about that if I need to go get a new one because it's not cheap! Also I thought it doesnt really make sense for me to have to get a new one, it was valid when I applied and I can't do anything about it if their processing times are so long that my papers go "old".

But luckily, today morning I got a text that my status had changed to card/document production! I am so happy :)

Congrats, and thanks for sharing!

That refers to once the interview notice has been mailed. In my experience, if you are in any stage less than six months and your priority date is within the local field office processing times, USCIS won't look into your case. My wife was in "Testing and Interview" for eight months and it was never possible to escalate it because even after six months we were still within the processing times for our city.

cuz my case moved to testing and interview on the 8th of Sept....and today would make a month. when I realized my case was close to a month on testing and interview with no interview date, I started to call and bug them, and also filed for request for case information, they kept on telling me San Francisco, my local office is still processing Jan 2014 AOS applicant.

maybe sometimes this people need you to bug them, sometimes I feel they don't really care.

There's a big misconception, due to poorly-worded explanation of the different stages on the USCIS website and forms, that people shouldn't be in the Testing and Interview stage for more than thirty days. The thirty days, as I mentioned a few posts up, refers to the waiting period after they mail you your interview notice. It's extremely common for this to take several months, and if you call several times before or shortly after the one-month mark it will just annoy USCIS and their system will have logged all these calls for something they have no power over. My wife and I were within a normal timeframe and it took eight months from entering that stage to receive our interview notice. By the time we have our green card, it will have been ten and a half months from filing for AoS.

The local office proceeding time is not really accurate. I think those proceeding times are only for their "excuse" for why the case is pending as your case is not approach to the time yet.

But good news is you got your interview date!!!

Yesterday we received my son and wife's EAD/AP Combo card! Such a relief! Now the Interview Waiver doesn't bother me so much, since this is all we really needed for the time being.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting on interviews, EAD/AP, or RFE responses!
