Hi to all , i'm today recieved packet 4 from nvc indicated that my interview is scheduled on june 8 and they asked from :

*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders
================================================================================
? Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of
Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal
income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview
First I have provided the affidavit of support for my husband in august 2013 to nvc
and his cousine also provided also affidavit of support cuz my income isn't enough
Now the problem , sine december 2013 i live with my husband in egypt so i can't provide the update for my affidavit of support
and THE COUSINE of my husband he now work part time so i think his new income can't cover the requirment income for affidavit of support
Please TELL ME HOW TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM OR I SHOULD OBTAIN NEW JOINT SPONSER FROM ANOTHER PERSON
SECOND my passport will expire on january 2015 so can i bring new passport to the interview or i should bring the old passport
please help me thank you

Did either person providing an affidavit of support, provide proof of filing an extension INSTEAD OF a 2013 tax return? If answer is no, you have no issue to resolve. If answer is yes, somebody did file an extension instead of a 2013 tax return, then they simply want the tax return from 2013, so it needs to be filed.

They are not asking for updated evidence of current income, though that is also a good idea, when it will help. Remember, the visa applicant may well be asked questions about the petitioner's current employment but it would be unusual to ask that question about a joint sponsor. If asked though, answer truthfully.

Go to IRS.gov for this information as it has nothing to do with immigration. Maybe use turbotax.com which is free and file electronically. What is more critical is the joint sponsor. Did they file an extension? Do you have THEIR 2013 tax return?? That's what's most important.

A tax year has passed - I have to assume tax data on 2012 was submitted in August 2013, tax return filed in 2013 for tax year 2012.

So, IMO, have an updated I-864 set to hand in on interview day, making it updated to reflect:

2013 tax data and

2014 current annual income proof/projection

on you, and any co-sponsers,

and if your prior co-sponser will FAIL for 2013 tax data and 2014 current annual income,

prepare now and get a different one, prepare the docs, so that you not fail on interview day.

Not do the above? Highly likely a 221G will be issued on interview day, asking for the stuff I mentioned above, thus delaying visa issuance.

as to filing a 2013 return now, on you, with your husband - you could certainly do that, for 'married filing jointly' tax status, using HIS SSN or completing IRS form W-7 , adding it to the POSTAL PACKET of the 1040 that will be mailed off to the special IRS ITIN Office in Austin, TX . Make copies of all before you send it, as since it's out of tax-season the turn around is about 9 to 14 weeks. Study IRS Form F-2555 also.

if you are filing with married-filing-jointly tax status, and not have a SSN or ITIN on your foreign spouse, filing electronically is not available. Must submit all via paper to the special ITIN Intake address listed on the W-7 form, in Austin TX USA.

you could choose married-filing-seperately tax status and file electronically, but ... if you were trying to use a M-F-j tax return as evidence of a bonafide marriage, it would not pass muster.

as to any co-sponsers NOT filing 2013 for 2014 tax-season - I dunno - I would worry as to WHY they not file it to the IRS during tax-season since they live in the USA and usually know the calendar.
