I'm a newbie and although i have been learning a lot here, I'm confused by peoples' signatures: What's a NOA and what do you mean when you say you've been "touched"? Thanks!

NOA = Notice of Action

NOA1 is the notice you get acknowledging receipt of your case

NOA2 is the notice you get when case is approved...

Try reading the FAQ's or doing a search for other answers to your questions....

Briefly...

NOA - Notice of Action (you will recieve one when you first turn in your application...it will give you a receipt number to use to track your case....then later they will send you NOA2 letting you know the status of your case to move on to the next step....)

Touched- after filing K1-visa you can track it online...at USCIS website...and everytime they update your file...it's called touched
