Hi,

Can anyone help answer?

My wife got her condition GC (valid for 2 years) in April 2006. The letter came with GC indicating she needs to apply for Permanent GC (valid for 10 years) 3 months before condition one expires. We think we need to submit the application for 10-year GC at the end of 2007.

But we are wondering if USCIS or any other related depts will send any letter/notification to my wife during this 2 years - after she got her condition GC and before applying for permanent GC? So far we didn't receive anything. But just wondering...

Thanks,

USCIS will not send you a reminder notice. It is up to you to remember when you need to file to remove conditions. Subtract 90 calendar days from the expiration date on your wife's card. That is the earliest you can file.

Yep they will not remind you to file to lift the conditions, you need to mark your calendar for a date 90 days before the expiration of the green card, to send in the I-751 within the 90 days.
