Hello,

I sent our petition on 12/20 i received my NOA1 on 12/25 i am still waiting for the NOA2, according to the online processing time it says that they are still processing June 15, 2006 petitions. So would that mean that i would take atleast 6 months for us to get the NOA2? Please help me with this so that i can plan ahead. Thanks for all your help. Kabilan

The online processing time on the USCIS site shows the oldest petition they are working on and is meant to cover their azzes.

You should plan on 90-120 days to be on the safe side and hopefully it will be closer to 90.

Try using the immigration timeline feature here on VJ. You should be able to see what others have experienced for your service center. Good luck

HERE's my timeline...Everyone varies...I've seen some VJ's who got their approval of both NOA1 & NOA2 all in a matter of 2 weeks filing...and then you have some that are 1 month or 2 or 3 or 4 and so forth months...Some people get TOUCHED and some don't during the wait...I know I started freaking out because I never once got touched...until my NOA2 was approved...and also the TOUCH from Dec was online because I registered my account online...

It will happen soon....As one wheel spins you look at what the other wheel will do because know I'm like send the stuff to NVC & pass it on to the Consulate and let's spin the last wheel to the interview...

But we all have to be patient...

Take care and many blessings...

Nkybaby, updating your timeline in your signature won't help the OP (or others of us for that matter). Click on 'My Assistant' and then "Edit/Add Timeline' to fill in your timeline. This will assist in more accurate tabulation of timelines and be more beneficial to us all... Thanks and Good Luck on your journey :)

Nkybaby,

You filed in Vermont which is why it was quicker. Unfortunately the OP is at CSC. If in your opinion soon is 75 days or so from now, then it will happen soon for the OP. :)

YMMV

No one actually knows how long YOUR petition will take. There are educated guesses however. You can count on not getting approval for 60 days, almost certainly. Probability suggests 70-90 days for your location.

The 6 months time is very unlikely for you.

If after 80 days from NAO1 you have not heard something, you can try to call them or contact a senator, but hopefully you will get a response by that time or shortly thereafter.

I used to look at all the NAO2 approval posts and see when they got their first notice and then predict when mine would come through. It turned out to very accurately predict, for me. But I can say that as the day approached I was sick with dread that I would be one of the improbable ones that drag on and on.

The not knowing is the difficult thing, but you can definitely start to hope after 70 days!

No it does not take the 6 months, usually between 1-3 months. I wondered that about mine also but they are pretty fast about it. Also keep in mind that yours is working throught the holiday season-so give or take a couple of weeks.

It is best to get allyour records together and keep them updated for the continued staying in contact with your fiance though-the rest kinda happens fast and there is a lot of information that needs to go with it.

Many Blessings

Your senator or congressperson will not typically pick up your case until you are past the reported dates on the USCIS website. In other words, once your case is 6 mos old or older....

:D I remember when I posted this same topic about NOA2 and some VJers snapped at me because our case was only 3 weeks old then and yet I already showed impatience. Just relax and extend your patience to the fullest because at CSC, it will take some time before you'll get your NOA2 (most probably 2-3 months). Always remember that you're not alone... many of us here are still waiting for that approval notice. Follow what fwaguy said... " relax and pour yourself something cold to drink... open up a good book or maybe three or four..."

I don't think they are back from vacation yet. Remember, this is the government and they will get things done in their time. I think the only government entity that gets anything done that fast would be the IRS auditing someone. Wait at least 90 days before you become too impatient.
