Thank you for you quick reply. I mean that what Will happend on the 19 of may ? And when do i have to bring the documents that are need in?

Yes but i didnt understand it thats why i'm asking

May I respectfully suggest you go back and read the instructions again then. They make it quite clear in my opinion what you need to do when. Make sure to page through all the consecutive pages and to check any country specific information under the country reciprocity pages. On may 19 (or after) you submit your ds260 form. This tells them that you want to go ahead with the application. Then as instructed you get together the civil documents as described in the instructions. You will need these for your interview. You will find out your interview date when the visa bulletin lists your case number as "current".

I'm not trying to be nasty but every year people are disqualified because they don't do something that was plain in the instructions. Don't try to rush it. Read it properly.

So right susie !

People must first read carfully the instructions, if they don't understand some points than they can inquire help for it !

But it seems to me,that lot of them

Don't make any effort !

I'm not an official or an attorney!

Its all about a guess work...

I'm just a DVHOLIC :)

I definitely get the impression that a lot of people just take a quick look and that is all... Then complain that they don't know what to do.

Like those people who complain they never knew they had to enter birth country for chargeability in the entry, which is impossible to miss if you just even start read reading the instructions !!

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this DV thing and I got selected with CN: AS000067xx

Based on the information I saw on this forum, can I say I will have an interview next May - June? (not sure if I count it right though since the cutoff is kinda different from 2012 to 2014. And what my chance will be like to have an interview?

Thank you for your response!

I would say your interview will be later than that. 2014 will be a better guide than 2012 (which was a complete fiasco). In 2014 your number has not yet gone current, but probably will in August. Yours will be around that time in 2015. I would imagine your number can be considered very safe in DV2015 - i.e. you will get an interview.

Hi guys,

Need some understanding as I don't know much about the US DV Lottery, I'm Canadian my wife just won DV2015 CN is AF92xx I have couple questions about the DV process:

1- sending the application ds260 sooner make any difference in the process timeline?

2- with that number when do you think we should expect an interview?

3- just wondering if the supporting documents can be in French since the interview will take place in Montreal according the the section below from the US DV website:

Translation Requirements

All documents not in English, "or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made", must be accompanied by certified translations. The translation must include a statement signed by the translator that

My case number is 2015AS0001xxxx What is my chance of getting an interview

The best way to figure that out is by looking at the visa bulletin for the previous year and seeing when your number was called. For example here (http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin/2014/visa-bulletin-for-june-2014.html) you have the 2014 bulletin, and you can see that they will reach 8,900 for Asia in July 2014, so something similar will probably happen in 2015 too. And here (http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/law-and-policy/bulletin.html) you can find all the bulletins for all the years, and looking at September of each year you can see what was the final number reached for Asia. For 2012 and 2013, for example, they have reached CURRENT, which means that all the numbers have been interviewed (and more likely than not, all eligible people have received visas). If you look in 2013, August is the month in which your number was reached (though I understand that the situation was a bit different in 2013 from 2015).

Anyway, your number will likely be called in August or September next year.

Born in Romania, been living in the US since 2007 (F1 visa)

F1 visa 2007-2011, 2011-2016 - OPT received August 25, 2014

DV-2015 Selectee - Case Number EU30,7xx - Interview estimate: May/June 2015 (?) - Might try to do AOS though it looks like it might be worse this year

Hello , my Case Number is 2015AF000030xx

When u think my interview will be and what are my chances ??

Thanks

Your interview will probably be in October this year!

Your chances depend on if you meet all the eligibility criteria. If you do then you will get the visa.

Please excuse me if I am asking silly question.

My brother was selected and we were so happy for him because he live in a war zone and we thought this lottery is going to get him out of it.

His number 2015AS000179XX

going through this page it sounds like his chance is very limited ? Checking those links you guys list, I only see for Asia that they are reaching about 8000. I am not sure if I am reading that correctly?

so when someone has number around 17000 from Asian country, this is his rank out of the Asian countries only ? or 17000 out of the 125,000 that were selected world wide ?

Sorry I couldn't understand the bulletin page, can anyone give me direct answer based on experience and stats ?

:(

Thanks

I'm not an expert in AS numbers. However since I looked it up for the response above, I know that they have reached current in both 2012 and 2013. That means that all lottery winners ended up going through the interview, and unless something unexpected happened (such as they had more eligible people than they estimated), everybody who was eligible got the visa. If they follow the pattern, then your brother will get an interview probably in September next year (you should check if 2014 reaches current too by the end of the year). Good luck!
