CFO what a bunch of dicks. She is still there at CFO without a sticker because she said 2013 instead of 2014 for my divorce. We separated in 2010 and it went final January of 2014. The date the judge signed it is on the last page and CFO seems to have a hard time finding this? I don't think they could find their ####### with both hands...

CFO can be a pecker, and if a person is meek, not showing confidence and self-assured they tend to act like a shark sensing blood in the water as well.

We did get the sticker the same day but it is ridiculous how the required paperwork can vary from one person to another. Bullet point #4 on the official Manila embassy paper is the most ludicrous statement ever.

4. Other documents as may be required by the counselors; and

So technically it is up to their discretion what documents they want to see. Other is quite a broad range. Could they ask for the birth certificate of their uncles mothers stepfather if they wanted to deny someone? Why not according to the flyer if the councilor requires it then it could fall in the "other documents" category.

As for the misinformation they spread it is repugnant and agonizingly ignorant. In the Cebu CFO seminar they said that Americans tie their women up and throw a dart at a revolving board that has various sexual acts on it then perform said sexual act. Then they told the group my fiancée was in that they all will lose weight because all Americans like for breakfast is oatmeal and milk... Really? This was followed by if you wear any knock off brand clothing you will not make it through immigration here at the port of entry... as if we have a knock off detector in use. When my fiancée told me what they said I replied are you bullshitting me? No way they said that. I laughed hard until I realized it was true then I was concerned because it seemed like they were trying to bully the attendees into changing their mind. I wonder how many have been the victim of this. All I could picture is the officials at CFO sitting in a room before the shift started going over what lies they would share that day and who could think of the most ridiculous American cultural "fact". Unreal stuff. I'm just happy we are 100% finished and she is here in less than a week.

Yes "other documents" is the catch all, I have tried to list the most common documents asked for by CFO in my link.

Biggest thing with CFO is watching for the meek and shy.... that is like blood in the water and the CFO personal are the sharks... and then they attack that person.

Consider the possibliity that they are trying to justify their own existence, getting women who walk in their seeing it as a waste of time and money and having them say on the way out :"Whew, glad I went".

CFO was quite serious about the call and told Candy they planned on callng me. No call yet but I will certainly report it here if they do.

BTW Candy breezed through the CFO as well as the interview. While normally quite personable and pleasant, if you put her in an environment where it takes a shark to get the job done, she comes through.

+1. Just like any government agency. It needs to justify it's existence or risk getting disbanded. Just like the TSA huh? :)

The law was enacted during the Marcos time to facilitate (really control/prevent) emigration. Not really relevant anymore in today's times.

Just like the travel tax which was enacted when travelling out of the country was considered a luxury and only within reach of the rich.

Candy and I spent many hours chatting on Skype about U.S. culture, so nobody is going to fool her with nonsense about oatmeal for breakfast and how you need to lose weight. I told her that morbidly obese or anorexia thin would both be problems for me but any healthy weight is just fine. Barbie style thin is for shallow men only, of which her fiance is not one of.

The CFO fee is only 8 bucks, so no big deal. The garbage they feed their heads with is the big problem, but if your fiance is too smart to believe such nonsense, that will be no problem either. Just bring the right documents, tell the idiots what they want to hear, and that will be the end of it.

The travel tax sucks, as do a lot of US taxes, but what is your choice but to shut up and pay it? Let's make no mistake, I am the one who will pay the travel tax and buy the plane ticket, and I am sure that is the same for most of you other gentlemen, But I would pay twice that much if that was what it took to get her here, and I am sure it is the same for all of you as well.
