You're welcome - but I see you're applying for adjustment of status, rather than a CR-1 visa which is what this thread is for! I'm sorry, I'm not really all that knowledgable on that process, but I'd suggest reposting your query in another forum. What visa did you enter the US on?

Oh man I am so sorry, I thought that I could join the group to wait with everyone else once I send my package.

Don't be sorry! The more in our group the merrier, I just apologise that I can't answer your question. The wikis on here have pretty good process maps, have a look through;

I wouldn't be too pessimistic! I've taken voluntary redundancy from my job for the pay out... I'm remaining optimistic I'll be there prior to the new year. The I-130 goal is 5 months and the NVC processing time is largely dependent on the applicant's swiftness in response, so, I'm remaining hopeful. My NVC package is pretty much ready to go. My wife's coming over in June so I'm going to give it to her so when she returns home, we can ship it from America when the time comes so valuable weeks aren't wasted waiting for it to ship over. I'm damn determined to not be stuck in this convoluted process longer than I need to be!

I'm stubbornly refusing to get my hopes up, but the idea that I could be there for Christmas has crossed my mind. I'm trying not to let it. I need to get my NVC stuff together, but I've got time and I know if I get it all ready right now, I'll spend the rest of the time freaking out.

Question, how are you planning to keep from going mental during the wait, in terms of 'how obsessively may I check my case?' I'm going to try and keep checking my status down to twice a week, because I'm pretty sure I could end up refreshing relentlessly forever.

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)
October 31, 2014: USCIS ships file to NVC (five days after NOA2) Happy Halloween for us!

November 18, 2014: NVC receives our case (22 days after NOA2)

December 17, 2014: NVC generates case number (50 days after NOA2)

December 19, 2014: Receive AOS bill, DS-261. Submit DS-261 (52 days after NOA2)

December 20, 2014: Pay AOS Fee

January 7, 2015: Receive, pay IV Fee

January 10, 2015: Complete DS-260

January 11, 2015: Send AOS package and Civil Documents
March 23, 2015: Case Complete at NVC. (70 days from when they received docs to CC)

May 6, 2015: Interview at Montréal APPROVED!

May 11, 2015: Visa in hand! One year less one day from NOA1.

I check it every single day, I go on here pretty much every hour or so, I search random threads, I read reviews of POEs and consulates, I think about interview questions and answers, I double check my Trello lists to make sure everything is in order daily... I don't think I've done a decent half an hour of work straight in my office without doing something USCIS related in a month... So I think I went mental a while back.

The funny thing is I don't even think about what I'm going to do for work when I'm there, where we'll move to, what car I'll drive... It's like I've just become some crazy visa paperwork robot obsessed with crossing items off my list.

Hi there! There's a great wiki on here that'll help a ton with filing your I-130. I've also included a link to the processing stats for different service centres. Enjoy!

http://www.visajourney.com/content/times

Thank you so much! I'm trying to get my packet together one by one and I'm trying to keep myself from having panic attacks about processing times slowing down again :(. Any status updates on processing times as of now? I heard that Nebraska was the quickest so far but I'm not too sure, how long are they taking now to process cases? I checked for last years may-june filers and saw it took them 9-10 months for their I-130 approvals and just seeing that gives me more panic attacks! Crossing fingers we all get out NOA2 approvals quickly!

The second link I sent you has the most up to date processing times according to data retrieved from VJ member timelines (which is why it's important to keep it up to date).

Nebraska is the quickest service center at present; roughly 7 days for NOA1, and 128 days to NOA2. However as I and NotATailor speculate this might increase gradually over time because we think they may be redirecting more cases there to balance workloads between centers.

Yeah. The time has been increasing for Nebraska over several months, but the pattern at this point appears parabolic. This is good, as the most recent increases indicate that the peak of the increases is being approached. With the current pattern and without pulling out some math I barely remember, I would estimate that it should peak or level with negligible increase at about 150 days, probably closer to 140-145.

That's absolutely great. I'm really worrying now. My office is going through a restructure so I took voluntary redundancy so I could do this. I need the NOA2 by mid-October at the latest. I'll get a payout, but, I don't want to be sitting around for months waiting eating away at my nest egg.

Booked tickets last night to go visit for the Fourth of July. Finally going to meet the in-laws. Have been reading up on the 'yes you can visit' thread and I hope everything goes well. I'm hoping to have my wife up in late summer, but that's up in the air right now.

When's everyone else going to get to visit with their spouse next?

Awesome! I hope everything goes well for you at the border. My beautiful wife lands here in the UK three weeks today. I couldn't be more excited.

I'm really hoping it all goes well, but I can't imagine it won't. I'm going to take evidence to support me coming back to Canada, including my NOA1 (why would I jeopardize my future when I am already trying to immigrate correctly?), a letter from work saying when I'm expected back, a sublet agreement (because I rent a room from a friend's flat rather than a whole apartment) and a contract with my flatmate regarding the care of my animals and how long she's to be looking after them. I'm hoping that proves my ties to Canada all right, if they ask, but I've seen instances where they don't even ask. Last time I crossed at Pearson (to go get married) the person stamping my passport didn't even look at me and just asked me 'vacation or business?' before letting me through.

Thought I would check the status, know it's kind of silly to do so, since everything says it should take another 4 months minimum, but got approved... I'm guessing this means I am moved to NVC now... Seems fast doesn't it?
