Hey guys will be applying for my I-130 soon, wondering how I should get the packet together for pictures? Should I copy in paste pictures on Microsoft word with dates etc? Also do I need to send passport copies for my husbands passport as of now or is that done later? Crossing fingers we all get approvals quick. I know due to the backlog cases have been taking 8+ months. Is this still going on right now any updates on which is processing the quickest as of now?

Hi there! There's a great wiki on here that'll help a ton with filing your I-130. I've also included a link to the processing stats for different service centres. Enjoy!

I got my NOA1 today, we only filed on Tuesday! AND we got the Nebraska Service Center! I've been following the processing times and they seem to be the quickest at present. My wife and I are so happy.

Oh man. You're so lucky! The post office said that they should receive our petition on Saturday, but I suspect the offices aren't open, so I'm hoping for NOA1 sometime late next week. Still hoping and praying that we won't get Texas. Do you also live in Texas? We do and I'm just hoping for some hope that we won't get Texas!

Met in 2010 on a forum for a mutual interest. Became friends.
2011: Realized we needed to evaluate our status as friends when we realized we were talking about raising children together.

2011/2012: Decided we were a couple sometime in, but no possibility of being together due to being same sex couple.

June 26, 2013: DOMA overturned. American married couples ALL have the same federal rights at last! We can be a family!

June-September, 2013: Discussion about being together begins.

November 13, 2013: Meet in person to see if this could work. It's perfect. We plan to elope to Boston, MA.

March 13, 2014 Married!

May 9, 2014: Petition mailed to USCIS

May 12, 2014: NOA1.
October 27, 2014: NOA2. (5 months, 2 weeks, 1 day after NOA1)

Thank you! We're just so pleased, it took us years to actually get our act together and become a couple. I really can't imagine a life without her in it. I'm back in England at the moment, my wife is in Baytown. And just to add to it; IT'S FRIDAY, PEOPLE!

Great! I'm glad to hear that.

Just a quick tip for you all as I haven't seen it mentioned on any other threads/Wikis. Apologies if this is already common knowledge. After your NOA1, USCIS should mail you a I-797; the hard copy of your NOA1 (I think). This will contain a receipt number starting with three letters. With this receipt number, you can check the status of your case on the USCIS website under "My Case Status". You can also create an account adding your receipt number and sign up for notifications of changes to your status via e-mail and text messages. I'd highly recommend doing so to preempt any RFEs.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

We've got our fingers crossed for you!

Jumping the gun a little, I've started to get my NVC package ready to ship out to my wife so as soon as we move into that phase, we can send it out. Plenty of time to wait until then so...

To pass the time, how did you all meet your significant others?

I met her online at filipinocupid.com and we just chatted for about 6 months online via Skype. Then I went to visit her and her family in Libmanan, best time I had, was said to leave.

Weekly skype group chat for a mutual interest. We sort of got to be friends, and then one day we realized we were discussing raising children together and thought we'd best reevaluate our relationship.

Great stories. I met my wife about five years ago now... It took us the longest time to quit fooling around and come to terms with how we felt about one another. We didn't meet in the flesh til December 2012. She added me randomly on Facebook in 2009. So strange how a chance act like that changed our lives. We've been flying back and forth over the Atlantic for just over a year now.

Not a Tailor, looks like you're headed to Austin? It's quite literally the best city on the planet. We're hoping on moving just north to Leander.

Austin is a temporary stop for us. My wife is a PhD candidate grad student with a few years left of grad school. We don't know yet where she'll do her post doc stuff, but we'll move wherever in the world that is. Being an academic's wife is a little like being a military wife that way, though luckily her area of study is much less dangerous than if she was a soldier, and I'll get to see her (somewhat) more.
