Thanks for the tip! Does it work to check when the file is in transit on the CEAC or is calling necessary? With how far out the interview date is, I'm assuming they will take a few weeks to send our file so I don't want to call every day for 3 weeks if I can more easily look at the website :)

As soon as the interview letter comes, we'll get on the medical right away.

Congrats to everyone else who got interview dates!

No you don't have to call its just nice to get that exact date. Because when you go to DHL is a bunch of stuff petitions get mailed everyday and there's no way to know if that's yours going to Senegal or a K1 or whatever.

But you can still follow on site sure.

So I received my Interview letter or the P4 email few hours back and I am little confused about the instructions. Would appreciate if someone can provide their views on it.

===============================================================================

*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

================================================================================

? Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three

items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:

? He or she is more than 16 years old;

? He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and

? He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

1st question, well I am little confused here.I have already submitted the original Police Clearence Certificate to NVC and the doc was obtained in Feb 14. My PC will still be within the 6 months validity when I attend the interview. So what is this additional police certificate they are talking about?

2nd question, Documents required to bring to the interview:

10- PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE A

Code A definition, Obtain this document and present it at the interview.

Again the original Police clearance certificate is already sent to them. So should I ignore this part?

I have my interview next week Wednesday. I was originally planning on trying to get to the US Embassy by 7:30am to start lining up but the trains don't start until 7:00am and they're not stopping at bond street due to strike (jubilee line) so am planning on taking a taxi.

Good luck for your interview tomorrow, I will eagerly be awaiting your update on your experience at the embassy so I can know what to expect (just like the medical- thank you for sharing that experience with us, really helpful)

Dimple

P.s: I have just noticed you are also going to be in Chicago like myself (hopefully) ☺️

Morning Dimple,

Thanks for the good wishes, as you can see I am awake already - have been for the last hour!! LOL!! I plan on getting to the embassy around 7:15 - I will only have my paperwork with me so no need for me to wait for Goulds to open. As I am ex UK Forces I always stay at the UJ Club and avail myself of their great Left Luggage facility. My wife and I had our usual skype visit last night and she insists on me waking her up with a call as soon as I can after the interview, which I was always intending to do anyways! although it will be 3 - 4 am there!!! :rofl::rofl:

Next week will be a real headache for those coming down but I'm sure you will find a way to get to the embassy on time - no one wants to miss this final appointment - it's been a long haul. I will let you know how it goes as soon as i can.

Our US filing location is Chicago but we live further South in Quincy, Illinois. Right on the river!! I will hopefully be POE'ing through Chicago, with my step son, on 29th May!! Whoo Hoo!!

Best Wishes,

thanks!

its coz I'm in F2A category not IR1/CR1.. my petitioner is a permanent resident not citizen.. which to me is not a fair rule.. but whats fair in this world anyways?? the problem is that if i don't get interview in june i may face a possible retro in july which means my priority date will not be current and i can't be issued a visa..

how about yourself? waiting for case complete or interview date..

I have the exact same IL email. Fortunately, I had asked her to collect 2 copies of the PCC from the Passport Office. One I sent to NVC. The other she will carry to the interview. I guess you should call NVC and find out more about whether you really need to get another PCC. Sorry I am not of more help here.

So I received my Interview letter or the P4 email few hours back and I am little confused about the instructions. Would appreciate if someone can provide their views on it.

*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

? Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three

items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:

? He or she is more than 16 years old;

? He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and

? He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate.

Hello,

The 1st part says you 'May' need to submit an updated police check if all of the 3 options apply to you but 1 of the options already doesn't apply to you which is if you obtained your police check more than 12 months ago.

Did you provide your original police certificate to them or a copy?

I would advise you to take another copy of the police certificate with you just to be safe, last thing you want is for yor visa to be delayed on something you may be able to get fairly quickly.

Hope tha helps.

Dimple
