I have no idea sorry. It could be 30 days it could be months. You need to be calling them monday soon as they open and ask for supervisor to get things clearer.I sure wouldn't be relying on emails and such you need to be calling.

How long it has varied 1there's no set time.

Oh , Ok Thank you dwheels76

about expediting experience, on the fifth day after writing them an email, they replied its under review. 12 days later, i called in the morning, they were still waiting for my embassy to reply. Later that day at 4 pm i found out that expedite granted. Maybe the waiting time depends on case to case basis, cuz i heard some people getting expedite in 6 days. Hope it helps.

Thank you Leyla&Nodir , you really help

But you have any idea if they accept the expedite they will sent the case to the embassy and completed from there or the case should complete at nvc first ??

Congratulations and hats off to you my friend.

Looks like his PD would be February 2013. Which is 2 months before mine. So he/she has been waiting for many many many months. I feel their pain so it is well deserved. I just hope we are all lucky too in the coming days. I'm still looking forward to their response about the interview letter. Maybe they haven't gotten an official letter and only found out by phone...Which might mean the rest of us could have been assigned an interview but don't know because we didn't call.....But the fact that they are still scheduling does give me an ounce of hope.

1/29/14 - NVC assigned case number

2/10/14 - DS-261 was filled out and AOS was paid

2/11/14 - AOS was mailed

3/10/14 - AOS Checklist for missing field (Didn't write N/A)

3/11/14 - AOS was resent

3/20/14 - IV fee was invoiced and paid

3/26/14 - DS-260 was filled out and the IV documents were mailed from India

3/27/14 - AOS was approved (Reply to the checklist)

4/1/14 - received a false checklist for IV documents

4/7/14 - IV Documents reached NVC

4/11/14 - IV Documents were touched by NVC

4/29/14 - Case Complete (Called on April 30)

4/30/14 - Checklist for IV docs (To obtain PCC - This is normal for Mumbai)

5/6/14 - CASE COMPLETE confirmation email received.

5/9/14 - Interview was scheduled for June 17 @ Mumbai Consulate

5/13/14 - Received IL letter (P4 Packet)

5/26/14 - Medical Appointment (Apollo/Ahmadabad)

6/16/14 - VAC Appointment

6/17/14 - Interview Date

6/17/14 - Approved

So I guess when it comes to MUM, their backlog is resolved by the PD Date once they're CC.

I was wrong then

That means that if I'm Aug 07 PD / IR-1 , I really have no chance till mid July

I think you should be fine for the first or second week of July. Some of the people who got early June interviews on VJ had PD's in June/July. But how interviews are scheduled is still an anomaly to me. It's not like the NVC just sat there and said ok let's wait for earlier PD's to be finished so we can schedule them the same day or next day. The other thing could be that their case was expedited...SO PD could be the determining factor or not, it's just all a huge messed up process in my mind. July's not to far, i'm not losing sleep over it...But then why the heck am I still up?

Okay people are really stressin this checklist. Whatever NVC has of yours you don't need to bring to interview. What you bring is all about your comfort level. I know we had duplicate of everything submitted from I-130 to NVC (all 2100 pages. We didn't submit any documents to NVC so we had to bring all to interview no big deal.

Yes every now and then we read how someone went to interview and the CO had nothing from NVC (that's why copies are good). Having copies sure won't hurt just in case. But not required unless the checklist says to bring to interview.

But for those who didn't submit 2013 tax forms to NVC I would sure have that with an updated I-864 just in case. Had over if asked.

And showing payment receipt isn't necessary because you wouldn't have got case complete and interview if you didn't pay. I do know that you need the DS-260 conformation page they do ask for that.

Thank you so much Dwheels, greatly appreciated your help. My husband has not yet filed for 2013 tax but he has applied for automatic extension of time to file US Individual income tax return. And I also asked help from our attorney regarding the docs that I need to bring with e on my interview. Hope he replies soon. Have a great day!

No

But it is possible that once CC, the scheduling intake then reprioritizes based on PD

Remember the consulate doesn't schedule - they just let the NVC know their current volume and last accepted case number

This is so mind boggling my head is hurting right now

If some of the dependents are to follow the principal in a few weeks, Do they require their own brown envelope from the consulate for the POE, or are the immigrant visas in their passports enough?

Every immigrant has its own visa and brown envelope, but principal immigrant must make POE first.
