There are people with PDs after mine who have interviews before mine. Maybe it's not supposed to work that way, but I'm sure it's an imperfect process.

Its possible. Its not a perfect process. I just stated the opinion that many people agree with.

And i cant prove my point as well. Its not documented anywhere. I guess its not a hard and fast rule.

What are you basing that off of ?

For IR-1/CR-1, these rules do not apply.

Everybody knows that.

Its not a perfect process. I just stated the opinion that people here agree with.

And i cant prove my point as well. Its not documented anywhere. I guess its not a hard and fast rule.

What you are talking about is the USCIS part where PD does not play any part in adjudicating the petition for IR1/CR1.

But when it comes to NVC scheduling the interview, the PD comes into picture.

Would you like it if someone who has PD after you gets his interview before you ?

No.

I am not talking about the USCIS.

That is irrelevant here.

The PD is especially no longer relevant.

It is all about when the NVC can schedule and when the case was completed.

However, I feel that we will not get a June interview for the simple fact that May 15th is too soon and even if I have the next CCD it won't matter.

Hi Collie,

Now that is a very good question!! I have had a quick look at Ryanair's policy - as I was actually checking in on-line for a flight to Spain as I got your reply and their policy is Passport or National ID only!! As per this from their T&C's of Carriage below:

THE ONLY FORMS OF TRAVEL DOCUMENTS ACCEPTED ON RYANAIR FLIGHTS ARE:

  • A valid passport
  • A valid National Identity Card issued by the government of a European Economic Area (EEA) country. (Only the following EEA countries currentlyissue National Identity Cards acceptable for carriage on Ryanair flights: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France*, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden (not accepted on non Schengen flights), Switzerland). *The validity of French National ID cards (issued for adults) has been extended from 10 years to 15 years.

Who are they planning to fly with? It may be that they may have a case to ask for issue the same day!! There was a couple recently that were asked to come back later that day to collect their passports as they needed to get their dog on a flight to the US that month!!

Maybe there are others on this site that have been through the same senario who may have a solution.

I'll keep looking too.

Chris & Silvia

I believe that they are flying with Easyjet but I will check and confirm, thanks :)

At the NVC they schedule interviews based on the time you had case complete.(This is for IR1/CR1).

I don't know about the others :no::whistle:

My wife's OFC appointment is tomorrow morning. I am wondering if you can respond to the following. As you can see she is little stressed out (and so am I) :)

Is she allowed to take in her cell phone and her purse to this appointment? Because then she can go to work directly from there.

I am pretty sure YES, She can always turn her phone off and make sure there is nothing like liquid or metal in her purse (except keys I guess) VAC is not as strict as embassy, I don't think. My father carried a bag with him (ie papers and phone turned off)

PD's have nothing to do with a IR1/CR1. Its your case complete that gets you scheduled. PD's will be used if there's like alot of you and scheduling is tight. It also comes in to play for LPR's because they have a Visa count. And its also embassy specific wen you get scheduled.

lol, I wasn't complaining. I was responding to the person who was asserting PDs matter and are used to schedule interviews to indicate that it's not really the case. So yours is a good note for that member ^_^

I believe that they are flying with Easyjet but I will check and confirm, thanks :)

That could be a good thing as Easy Jet still accept UK Photo driving licences as valid ID as below:

Article 13 Documentation and Other Requirements 13.1 Photographic ID Requirements

13.1.1 The airline requires all passengers to provide photographic ID at check-in on all Flights including domestic services. Passengers who use the online check-in service will be required to provide photographic ID at the boarding gate.

And here is their definition of Photographic ID:

You need to provide photographic ID at check-in on all flights, including domestic services. If you check-in online you will still need to provide your photographic ID when you go through security and again when you board the plane.

Photographic ID means:-

International flights outside the EU - Valid passport only

International flights within the EU - Valid passport or national identity card *

Domestic flights (excluding UK) - Valid passport or national identity card *

Domestic flights UK - Valid passport or photographic I.D.

* not every country issues a national identity card

Please note: a driving licence does not represent a valid photographic ID, with the exception of UK domestic flights.

As NI is classed as a UK Domestic flight the last line above covers it all I guess!! If they both have Photo driving licences that is!!

Chris & Silvia

New to this thread! I called NVC yesterday and was shocked to hear my husbands case is COMPLETE. :-) Best phone call to NVC yet. Now just waiting for interview email I suppose. Fingers crossed for a June interview since the embassy in Romania is relatively quiet. Or at least I can try moving it up if I get a July date? Anyone else waiting for an interview in Romania?

You are correct VAC is not as strict as the consulate/embassy. However, my wife said they were not allowing cell phones (which she did not carry any way). They were keeping the cellphones and other stuff (liquids) at the security to be picked up at the time of exit. Everyone there were behind secured barriers/metal enclosures. However, the fingerprinting/pics process was seamless. No hassles.
