It was me! I was just wondering if you've been calling to ask about an interview.

this wxactly what happened to me:

my lawyer submitted the affidavit of support and Petition of visa (not sure about the # of the forms) on 04/01/2914 and by 04/23/2014 I received a checklist asking me for the documents of affidavit of support (which they should have by that time in the office) I called after I received the checklist to verify if they really did not receive my documents or if it was because they did not checked yet ,they told me that it should take 30 work days to the case be proccesed and if i was sure that my lawyer sent them then just give them a little more time and probably they would be able to have an update in my case, thats what i did and I called on 5/5/2014 and they informed me that everything was there and my case was completed on 5/1/2014 and they was just waiting for the consulate to schedule me an interview, I tryed to called today but te line was busy the 10 times I dialed on diferent times during the day

and just today received the email with the notification that my case has been completed(wich I already knew).

So I am going to try to call tomorrow to see what news they have on my case!!!:)

thank you!!!

Definitely because you cant jump the line. If someone has PD before you but CCD after you, he would be the first one to get scheduled. After this, if there are spots left, they give it to F2A in the same fashion.

Many people here will agree with this.

What are you basing that off of ?

For IR-1/CR-1, these rules do not apply.

Everybody knows that.

Folks,

Please update me what are the documents that one need to carry to the interview. I understand its all the packet IV documents but then many ppl say that we need to carry copy of i130, then tax papers, AOS etc.

Why do we need to carry all this stuff, when NVC will already ship the same to embassy?

Also there is no change in tax transcripts for my joint sponsor as well as my spouse, so do i need to ask my spouse to send me the originals to take it to the interview?

Also, what all do we need to carry for OFC (other than P4, passport)?

hello INDIM

u r correct on the docs.... but people do carry all the docs for safety purpose bcoz at the end of the day u dont want a re-interview for one docs missing ( the interviewer may ask the person to show the I-130 and others docs just to double check)

Basic documents that the person need to carry is listed on the interview letter (like for me they listed the updated I-864 and tax return of 2013)

But do carry the original docs or copy of the docs like marriage certificate, birth certificate and others docs as a proof.

And. yes u need to carry the OFC approval or completion letter.

Thank you

D

Congrats. Sending you positive vibes. Hope you'll get June interview.

Thanks very much.

Just called NVC, the representative said that interview still has not been scheduled :(

Then i asked if Embassy guys are still scheduling for June, then he said that its not embassy but NVC guys who schedule interviews.

The answer to question that when can i expect a interview date was "They are not sure about it" :(

And at last good thing he said "We are still scheduling for June" :) pls give me a June interview............

Hi SuzAug,

Check out this thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/439537-green-card-production-after-elis/ for info on receiving the green card in the mail after POE. From what I've read, its taking a few months for the green card to arrive in the mail.

Good info re: social security cards http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/405546-ssn-howto/

Thank you! I went to both of these links; the general consensus seems to be that it takes anywhere from 1 month after POE to 2.5 months to get your actual 'green card' in the mail, so we'll sit tight and wait for that.

My husband did tick the "Want a SSN?" checkbox, and his Social Security Card has already arrived, 3 days ago. He was so excited! So at least that part of the process works.

When we went to the ELIS website to check the status there, there didn't seem to be a place to check for 'card production' but it said 'Accepted' regarding the payment. Se we'll assume the elves are working on chiseling and sculpting the green card....

What are you basing that off of ?

For IR-1/CR-1, these rules do not apply.

Everybody knows that.

What you are talking about is the USCIS part where PD does not play any part in adjudicating the petition for IR1/CR1.

But when it comes to NVC scheduling the interview, the PD comes into picture.

Would you like it if someone who has PD after you gets his interview before you ?

There are people with PDs after mine who have interviews before mine. Maybe it's not supposed to work that way, but I'm sure it's an imperfect process.
