The current annual income question isn't based on previous years' tax information, it's how much you're making CURRENTLY, right NOW as of the filing. If you're salary, use that amount. Otherwise do your wage x hours worked per week x weeks worked in a year.

No need to certify the photocopies. The point of the photocopies is so that you can get the originals/certified copies back at the interview and they will keep the photocopies.

If there's ONE question not to leave blank, that would be the one. Either write in your address or write in "same as above". DO NOT LEAVE THAT QUESTION BLANK (unless you want a checklist!)

my AOS was accepted yesterday. I made the mistake of putting the 2013 income for current income . And I used my current address so I wouldn't leave it blank.. It was accepted . (Thank God)

But the correct income is what you expect to make this year as Saylin stated above.

Make sure you use line 22 from your 1040. TOTAL INCOME.. Adjusted income if you filed a 1040EZ

Finallly Case Complete

I did receive a checklist that was scanned in on April 18th and reviewed on May 5th. They said they wanted some additional information but we can bring that to the consulate and completed to the case!!

Congrats to everyone who has gotten case complete and good luck to those who are very close! Now I have to see if its too late for the Mumbai consulte and a June interview date.

I asked for expedite based on the fact that my step children are in danger living with their mother. My husband needs to get custody of them but has no real support system without me being there, so the court won't give him custody. The police and child welfare/social services is involved. That's the just of it without going into too much detail on a public forum. I explained the whole situation to a supervisor but it was not a good enough reason.

I kind of had a feeling about that since pregnancy isn't even a reason for expedite. But you never know unless you ask. Ask your husband to call the Senator's office. They are really strict about expedites. You pretty much have to be on your death bed to get any kind of relief from Immigration.

Thanks again! Last question, I promise: The following question has absolutely dumbfounded us as to how to answer: "Are you a health care worker seeking to perform such work in the United States but have not yet received certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools or from an equivalent approved independent credentialing organization?"

Well, she's a registered midwife in Europe and at some point in the future (we don't know when) would like to become certified in the US and work there possibly, but everything's up in the air right now as it's a different system and she might be a stay at home mom for the rest of her life etc. Do we answer Yes and tell them that, or do we answer No because her purpose of immigration is not work, but to live with me?

I really thought the DS-260 would be easier than this. Ugh. Sorry for the twenty questions. I keep going back to you because you seem so knowledgeable.

Well I just called at 11:40 and they actually picked up past midnight (12:10) surprisingly. Max answered and he was very polite and sounded a bit tired. I asked about my IV fee again and he said a supervisor is scheduled to look into it as per my call on Friday. Unfortunately I forgot to ask how long that would take. I was too thrown off that he knew about my call on Friday lol

He also said its been paid so no need to worry. He was very reassuring

I spoke to Max yesterday. He wasn't as helpful to me though. Maybe he just didn't like my voice lol.

What other information did they ask for that you could bring to the interview if you don't mind me asking. I wish they would complete my case and just let me bring my reviewed AOS to the interview. But that won't happen.

Would she have answered Yes if she didn't have credentials? I'm so not sure what to have her select for this question and it's dumbfounded us.

15 minutes on hold and my call was answered by someone speaking Spanish...???? Responded in English and he told me that he doesn't speak English. Just in case anyone was feeling confident in NVC staff

Did you press 2 for Spanish by mistake? I wonder if when you press 2 the guy and the girl who speak to you on hold and trick you into thinking someone is picking up the phone also speak Spanish lol.

When i read that question i was also really confused. I read it like 10 times. I think if you answer yes then write may an explanation to why you answered yes and and state that she is a midwife and she will eventually practice in the usa and send that letter with your IV package.

btw. getting her credentials transferred from a foreign country to the USA for a nurse/midwife is a pain and an annoying process. Almost as frustrating as this process.

I put them in a small ziploc bag and and binder clipped the entire package.
