The paralegal is arguing with me about this issue, she said the B-2 is a visitor visa, now I don't know what to say. Did you answer no for your DS-260 or anyone else has any input? thanks I am going nuts here....

My husband applied for a visa in Costa Rica. He was issued a 10 year visa. When he entered the US, he was given 6 months on a B2 visa ( tourist) I answered yes to that question because he was issued a visa.

I don't know how it works with a Canadian citizen especially since you never applied for one. I do know the B2 is a tourist visa. The lawyers don't know everything.

Just updating- I was approved 4/11 for both the I-130 petition and the I-129F.

Got a case number Friday from NVC and today called again to double check it was for the I-130. The lady confirmed that it was in fact for the I-130 and the I-129F (K3) will be administratively closed. I also got the Invoice Identification Number today too!! It seems quick to me, but hey, I'll take it!

Just reporting back because some were wondering whether they gave me a K3 case number- but no, it is for the 1-130 petition. Either they are working fast at NVC or it has something to do with filing both petitions? Who knows!

You do have a K3 case number and its most likely one digit off from your I-130. The K3 is a waste... they close it and you are forced to go with the I-130

The highlight of my day was going to the FedEx facility and sending off a package to the NVC ( AGAIN) it contains the certified copy of my husband Birth Cert and I also enclosed a print out of the NVC instructions highlighting what is required for Costa Rica regarding the Birth Cert and the Police Cert. The very best part is that it only cost $8.18 because I was able to sign up for an account through my job which gives me a huge discount at FedEx ... Last package I sent was $25. My husband used the account number and checked off bill recipient and I never got charged for the package he sent from Costa Rica. I asked how much I owe and she told me there wasn't a balance.. So something good did happen I guess. Maybe I'll give a call to the NVC since the reviewers had all day to look at my AOS correction and Joy and Arthur have gone home for the day.

I never asked for a Visa , every time I crossed the U.S. border I got a stamp with a B-2. I googled and the answer is :

• In most cases Canadian passport holders are not requited to hold a U.S. visa to enter the United States directly from Canada.
• Canada is not a part of the Visa Waiver Program and Canadian passport holders do not need and cannot apply for ESTA.

What documentation are Canadians required to show to U.S. Customs and Border Protection in order to be admitted into the United States:

Canadian visitors must present proof of citizenship (e.g. passport, birth certificate or naturalization certificate) and a government issued photo ID (e.g. passport, driver's License or provincial health card) at the U.S. Port of Entry if entering via a land border crossing. A valid Canadian passport is required when arriving in the United States by air or from outside of the Western Hemisphere. After June 2009 a Canadian passport is required for all air, land and sea entries. A Canadian passport does not need not be valid beyond the duration of the planned trip to the United States and it does not need to be machine-readable.

But our paralegal is saying the B-2 stamp is a visitor Visa for me too. It is so confusing and I am trying to call NVC to verify. One thing I know, I could have done everything by myself....I had to correct every single entry that the 15 year veteran paralegal entered....SO MAD!

I too have done everything myself... Tons of mistakes made by the paralegal. It blows my mind how they don't know the basics of immigration. I had to correct my attorney too. I could have done all of this myself. I do need them for the waiver but since hind sight is 20/20, I wish I would have done all this myself and THEN contacted the lawyer for the waiver

MsGoyave, it's really hard to know exactly what is wrong with the passport page - whether it is missing or, as you suggested, too dark for them to read easily. Are you set up to receive emails from them? I know that waiting two more days is killing - but until you know exactly what is wrong, you might be agonizing for the wrong reason.

I'm supposedly getting a checklist, too, but nothing has come through! I'm calling tomorrow to ask about it.

Thank you Sukie, it makes me feel better to read you. I am so upset and sad but I hope it will go fast. Just thinking of the July plans with my husband I had in my head being crushed in just one phonecall makes me cry. We called again just to be sure, our package has been reviewed last Friday, and it they request the joint-sponsor's proof of citizenship, looks like they didn't find the copy of the passport... The lady told us to print again the coversheet and to send it again asap. I guess we will do this tomorrow.

I am really hoping it is a false alert for your checklist, maybe it is something you will be asked to bring at the interview.

Congratulations! We got our Case£ today as well! They said it was still being put in the system so I couldn't give our email addresses but hopefully in the next day or so I can. I see you have been able to get through the system much faster than we have but glad they are getting their chickadees in order! Hope the rest of the journey goes well for you! Cheers!

On hold right now. Totally thinking the same thing. And sometimes I think someone is there to talk to me and it's just him thanking me for holding. The faint female voice gets me too lol.
