I know... right??? I think the reviewer was new or something.... Not all birth certificates look pretty like they do here in the US. The legal sized paper probably threw them off.... but still.... I have to suffer through all this mess. and its obvious they didn't read the instructions on the country they were processing... I can just see that person goign through my papers... " oops no police certificate... CHECK !!! I don't see a birth cert......CHECK !!!!!! #######???

What irritates me more than anything is the fact that my lawyer doesn't know what income amount to use on the AOS. I literally argued with him but he sent his version anyway. If Immigration is your specialty, shouldn't you know the basics?? Just sayin'

A "Joke" on the side:

I think your case so far has encountred all possibles delays known from USCIS to NVC!!!!

did you irritate them in a previous life????

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box

ha ha.... this is my second time petitioning BUT I never went through the NVC. I did a K3 that last time.. but that has nothing to do with it I'm sure.

I think it is the DACA and I-601a's that nailed us all back at this time last year... and then the UN-trained staff at the NVC that happens to be the thorn in my side recently. I didn't think it could get any wors than waiting 11 months for an approval.. Dang.. I was wrong

I am not certain about Delhi. PCC is a quick thing usually, same day or within a week. In hyd/bangalore (mumbai consulate), we were able to get it before we got case complete. but deep was having issues getting one without a checklist/appt letter. If you are able to obtain then absolutely send to nvc itself.

Hey mza001,

how many pcc did you get? My wife got the passport clearance certificate and a stamp on her passport. But i think i need a local pcc as well?

2 copies of the pcc. one to send to nvc, one to take to the interview.i am pretty sure they must have stamped my wife's passport too but i didnt ask about that. And yes, dont think they require the local police station pcc anymore. and the validity also is 1 yr not 6 months as it used to be before.

I have a question...when you call the NVC during the day, are you ever passed from the Customer Service people to Adjudicator people?

I called last Friday night, after 5 p.m. Agent Jack was lovely, but he had to put me on hold to ask someone else how to interpret certain "codes" he found on our file. He seemed to indicate that we'd be getting a checklist (our State in Australia sends the PCC directly to the Consulate, so, of course, it is missing). He also seemed to indicate we'd need two PCCs - one from Queensland and one from Victoria - which is totally incorrect. Something he said sounded like they were waiting for Sydney to tell them what to do.

We have gotten no checklist - so I'm confused.

Do you think it is worth it to try to call on Monday (after Sydney might have replied to any questions) and see if I can get any better info? ( I'll know if Joy or Arthur answers that I'll be toast.) Can the customer service people really see what is happening on the files, or are they limited to certain fields or "codes"? If we don't get answers within the next 3 days or so, we can kiss a June interview goodbye...

Thoughts from those of you who are daytime callers? Any wisdom from Aussies from NSW or QLD who might have had a similar experience?

Sukie

Yes, definitely call them. The "codes" (which are also confusing - you'll see once you get the interview letter) indicate if you're missing anything and what needs to be brought to the interview along with that letter. I would definitely call the NVC back and keep hounding them.

Just realized that my husband's Police Report is only valid through mid May because he picked it up in February. So if they don't give us a Case Complete by then or at least review our IV package before then and accept it, we are screwed.

I think that Police Reports are now valid for at least 6 months. If they are valid until mid May and you do get a case complete then, you will still have to bring new ones with you to the interview. Are they difficult to get in Portugal?

Yes, exactly. If your child will be a US citizen, then they're not immigrating, simply moving to the US. Immigration is for non-US citizens.

Thank you very much Saylin. One more thing: my wife needs one more vaccination and we're going to get it by the time of her medical exam. What do we answer for the following question:

Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law?

Thanks again
