Did you call NVC today? anything new?

Yep, called this morning but I didn't expect anything new since I called around 10pm on Friday night. They are alot of things, but SUPERMAN is not one of them. I will allow them today to get a move on. I will call tonight.

I talked to Cindy. She told me she could see that the file was with a supervisor for the requested review and made a comment that "at least the file is where it is suppsed to be" I guess they see alot of mistakes ... I hope they ( at the very least) accept my corrected AOS. Then its just the police cert removal and for someone with half a brain and decent eyesight to accept the original birth cert we sent. I am sending the certified copy once I pick it up at FedEx this afternoon. jsut to be safe. but they should absolutely accept that cert. This is just ridiculous. Oh and Cindy agreed with me that since the reviewer went ahead and checklisted us for a police cert taht wasn't even required, they probably didn't have a clue what they were looking at for the Birth cert. I pray that they supervisor fixes these problems and I get a CC soon !!! I am angry that we have to pay for their mistakes. Time is so valuable these days.

This is probably a really dumb question, but I just wanted to make sure: my wife is filling out the DS-260 right now and we're at the section on children. We just had a daughter here in Poland and are going to get her CRBA this week. The question: "Is this child immigrating to the U.S. with you?" on the DS-260 is only referring to children that aren't U.S. Citizens, right? I know dumb, but had to ask. Thanks.

I am not certain about Delhi. PCC is a quick thing usually, same day or within a week. In hyd/bangalore (mumbai consulate), we were able to get it before we got case complete. but deep was having issues getting one without a checklist/appt letter. If you are able to obtain then absolutely send to nvc itself.

my in-laws did obtain one from local office but I think they need one from the passport office as well. Last week they said they were supposed to get it today from the passport office but when they went to the office they won't accept the paper from the local office stating they passed their background and the passport office want to check their own background #######? so its going to take another week

You can include in the IV package if you are able to obtain it without the appointment letter or checklist. otherwise they do a case complete, and issue you a checklist and you have to take it to the interview. From a few experiences, people were able to obtain pcc without appointment letter in bangalore, hyderabad. People were having issues in ahmedabad/gandhinagar and had to wait until the appointment letter came. Hope this helps.

Thanks.. this VJ forum is very very helpful.

Yes, as far as i know, these days you only need from the passport office. Until a couple of years back you needed both. Now, the process is that passport office issues directly, same day, or they go through the same process. once you submit docs at the passport office, local police station folks visit and report back after which you are issued the pcc. i hope they signed up for an sms service for like 30 rupees which sends them an sms when it is udpated. in most cases, females/old age etc the passport office even issues pcc same day.

Thanks.

Yes, exactly. If your child will be a US citizen, then they're not immigrating, simply moving to the US. Immigration is for non-US citizens.

Wow, if this was the process of third world country I would understand! but this is the USA we are talking about! Top of the Top (???)

This is just ....., I don't even know how to describe it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:wow::wow::wow::wow:

I know... right??? I think the reviewer was new or something.... Not all birth certificates look pretty like they do here in the US. The legal sized paper probably threw them off.... but still.... I have to suffer through all this mess. and its obvious they didn't read the instructions on the country they were processing... I can just see that person goign through my papers... " oops no police certificate... CHECK !!! I don't see a birth cert......CHECK !!!!!! #######???

What irritates me more than anything is the fact that my lawyer doesn't know what income amount to use on the AOS. I literally argued with him but he sent his version anyway. If Immigration is your specialty, shouldn't you know the basics?? Just sayin'
