HOW SOON DO THEY REPLY TO A CHECKLIST? I emailed them about my consulate change on 31st march and i got no reply I saw a person who emailed on first april getting a reply.

Anyway reese at nvc asked me to send A REQUEST FOR CONSULATE CHANGE AND PASSPORT SCAN WITH THE CHECKLIST SO WE DID.

DO YOU THINK THEY WOULD CHNAGE THE CONSULATE ON THE BASIS OF THAT PAPER I SENT IN WITH THE CHECKLIST? Anyoneeeee????

Hi Mai, thank you. Yes I had an appointment with DFA last Wednesday and they said my passport will be available on the 15th or 16th of May. After that I'll apply for my NBI clearance and my IV packet will be good to go.

That's good news! at least it's coming soon.. Goodluck to us! I hope my IV fee will show paid by this coming week..

Give NVC about 4 weeks from the date they acknowledged receiving your case to assign a case #. Calling them once a week right now, and maybe twice a week later on is probably still a better idea than email. They are quite slow in sending or responding to emails.

quick question.. if my case was completed on 04/29 at the NVC (by phone), when do you reckon I might land a mumbai interview ?

Update and Question: 20 years old traffic violation arrest case for wife that was dismissed in court.

Incident was in Colorado, and we just obtained independent letters from the concerned Public District Attorney and Clerk of the Courts stating no records available for the case.

Question: Would we be guilty of hiding material facts if we answered NO to the DS-260 question regarding any prior arrests? Or should we answer YES and include these letters?

It's logical to me if there are no court records there is no case to be concerned about. If they check they will find nothing and in my humble not experienced opinion you would just confuse the doofus heads. I for one wouldn't say a thing because the court has no records. Much luck to you. (F)

Im in a state of emotional flux about this.

The PSK wants me to add wife's name to the passport - which is not a problem except our marriage was not registered in India.

My PSK head officer will not apparently accept the rules for hague convention signatories -- so we're going through a lot of red tape.

On top of that I have only had passports issued in the US.

I no longer live there.

So they want me to change my address as well.

All of this is is to get a PCC - which I have been told as of today - wont come along for another 60 days.

Not sure what to do now but wait.

I hope I can reschedule with the Mumbai people.

At least they'd understand.

How is it that after doing everything right, that I am so disillusioned.

Hey guys! Hoping someone can help me out with this. So I just passed my naturalization interview now waiting to get my oath ceremony letter and my naturalization certificate! Obviously this will probably take another month ;(. I want to file for my husbands I-130 as soon as possible and do not want to wait another few weeks for my passport. Is it okay if I can just file for the I-130 with my naturalization certificate? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Congratulations on passing your naturalization interview not an easy thing. You won't become a US citizen until you take the Oath so I would say wait until you get the certificate, you will need to send a copy and give them your unique number that is on the certificate. Also you will need to get your US passport and send them a copy of that. It really doesn't matter if you send it now because they will only hold it until you send the correct paper work in. If it wont take long you can try to send what you have, they might keep your place in line but they may not. I for one would wait, do you know when your Oath ceremony will be? I think they send your certificate in the mail not sure how long that takes these days. (F) Good luck to you.

They usually do in 5 business days.

They are not expected to necessarily respond before 30 business days - i am going to haazard a guess and a say that the 30 day spiel is ... well.. baloney..

Does anyone know if my husband, who is a Serbian citizen and has no SS# or AR# and is currently not working needs to file an I-864a? I am completely confused with that. I figured I would just do it anyway to avoid a checklist but they are asking for IRS tax returns (which he obviously doesn't have) and there's no other option. I already don't meet the requirements, which is why my father is the joint sponsor. What the heck do I do with Part 6 of my I-864? Leave him out of it or include him and file the I-864a? Lord help me.
