Congrats to smoddydana, Lakehouse, etrangais, Missing_My_Amor and everyone celebrating good news this weekend!

I'm feeling a bit heavy hearted this morning, and listening to this song which probably doesn't help. Hugs and good vibes to everyone still waiting in limbo. Thinking of all you immigration warriors, wishing you speedy weekends and good news come Monday.

Oh no BOS_LHR noooooooooooooooooooooo don't listen to sad music, we have enough to depress us without that. Put on some happy music on, wont help a lot but wont push you over the edge.

I want to stay away from VJ because I sit here and see complaints about having to wait a month or so for an interview and I know I'll have to wait 6 to 8 months for one. I try to stay away and here I am reading the same thing over and over again. Makes me want to scream my A$$ off . How do I stay away is what I want to know, not good to depress yourself and I'm proof.

Thanks Guys!!! i'll keep doing my part and just hope for the best. I definitely think this wouldn't happen in person because I don't know how many times I've been over and for months at a time, and any misunderstanding get resolved quickly. I think we're both frustrated with not getting the interview date that's probably causing more fights. Thank you soooooo much. I just needed to vent and make sure our situation wasn't unique. Your words of encouragement really helped me I'll be praying for both of you also

Just wanted to say thanks for the words of encouragement. I have been fighting with my spouse a lot lately and all this stress is not helping. I feel like our marriage is falling apart with this distance and it really hasn't even started.

I feel your pain. All this process at USCIS and NVC turned lots of marriages into a joke, especially newly wed couples.

I went through rough times with my wife also. I told her when we got married that the process would take 5 months, not knowing about the USCIS backlog.

July 1st will be our first anniversary and her appointment is July 9th.

She is getting pressure from her family and friends. she is tried of all this process and I'm tired also.

Bulwara - you are near Sydney? So your home state is NSW? If so, you need to go to your local police station and request a fingerprint check. You need to put your Case Number on the request for a police certificate, and have the correct address for the Sydney Consulate so you can put it on your request form.

Your police report will take about 4 weeks and will be sent directly to the Sydney Consulate.

I live in Adelaide and got Fingerprint police certificate a couple months ago and they didn't need a Case Number. Just ticked box that it was for US visa. Good luck.

It all depends on your state.

You didn't need a case number because the report is sent to YOU! For NSW/QLD, the report is sent directly to the Consulate - NOT to the petitioner. If you don't have a case number attached, they don't know whose it is!

Okay Sukie this is what you do. You are going to send NVC an email and in the Subject line with your Case# you will write "Unobtainable Documents"

You will tell your story and how long you been dealing with this mess and request that your case be completed and you will have the embassy deal with it.

NVC has this unwritten rule that after 2 months they will let you go. IF you ask but you have to have the right wording.

Remember NVC is just an intake document center and don't approve anything just accept and they will gladly pass you on to the embassy.

Give it a shot. And yes I did do this. All I sent to NVC was a marriage license and the DS-230 back in 2013.

Give it a whirl. Report back what they say.

Did this already, dwheels. Scanned in May 14th. So did my attorney. Scanned in May 9th. I'm just waiting for them to open the email/packet to read this and realize their mistake.

You can certainly be the sole sponsor for both packets. You only need a co-sponsor if your income is not enough to support your total household including your wife and daughter. Good luck!

You are my hero. Thank you for making this clearer. I thought so but was confusing myself. he had shown me his I-864 and was double counting and had me all messed up. Now I am all versed on this. Phew.

Sorry to hear this Cangirl. Long distance relationships are difficult, but adding this immigration process truly makes it so much worse. Keep at it! Once you're together again your relationship will be much stronger because of this ordeal. Best wishes!
