:dancing: :joy: yayyy finally got my case number ..thank you for helping me out guys

Congrats and may the rest go quickly!!

 And I had such high hopes lol.

Even if I were to get CC tonight, no one is ever here from Friday evening-Sunday evening to celebrate with me lol. But I'll take that CC anyway lol.

I'll be here! :) I check here probably 5+ times a day now lol, and I'll be calling to see if I got an interview date tonight.

Ok guys, I've been waiting since early Tuesday morning for the INTERVIEW LETTER and was getting more and more depressed each day. I noticed this morning that people were calling to get the interview date so I though, WTH, and called.

A nice young lady answered the phone and said that my interview had been scheduled several days ago (Tuesday, Wednesday?) and they are behind in sending out the emails! You know, if they would put more effort into the emails then there wouldn't be so many calls! Duh!

Anyway, interview (for now) is July 9, 7:30 AM

Congrats on your date!!!!!

Got my interview date , JULY 15, 2014 at 7.30 AM, Mumbai Embassy

Good luck to you and congrats!!!! :star:

The thing that bugs me the most about this is that NVC had to see this coming - they had a year (when the backup was already forming at USCIS) to get ready for this deluge of files. They had to know that eventually USCIS would get their sh!t together and get through the pile. So why are they acting like the backup was totally unexpected and unprecedented? It's ridiculous.

The same can be said for USCIS. The administration was pushing DACA through, we found proof last year that USCIS knew exactly what was coming, and the backlog still happened. Preemptive action seems to be unheard of <_<

Called the NVC and got our case number today YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked what the IIN was and the agent told me I could use either the case number or the receipt number. So I attempted to login to the US department of state website and Im getting this error-

"The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered does not match our records. Please try again or contact the National Visa Center for further assistance."

Should I call back to the NVC or is this normally happen? I'm so confused I am positive the case number is correct I had her repeat it and I repeated it back to her. Please help!!

sometimes they don't like to give the IIN number for some stupid reason. You definitely need that to log in.

They review packages in the evening?!?!?!?!? Seriously? Or do you think she just said that to shoo you away? I have spoken to Kelly before. It was hard to get anything out of her though. But she was nice.

Yes, I've heard of two shifts before, over the years I've been here. I'd say it's true.

You need TWO numbers to log into the payment portal and online forms portal. That's the case number and Invoice Identification Number. Call back and ask for it.

Can't you see the big "L" on my forehead... My big Friday night is going to consist of chatting with my honey from 9-10 and then sitting on hold with the NVC to get my "last chance" call in before the weekend. UGHHHHH What will life be like when he is finally here? What will I do without a call to him every night and calling the NVC???? GOOD LORD....

I still have the waiver to wait out and that will super suck because that goes to Satan's house at the NSC. At the mercy of the USCIS yet again. Shoot me now !!!!! I guess I should be thankful that the NVC at least provides a number where I can get status updates. NSC provides NOTHING

id gladly spend all weekend on hold if i got some sort of update on my case... ideally a good one

Hubby is in England, so our Skype calls end at 7-8pm my time. He's truly a gem to stay up so late just to see me <3

ANYWAY, I'm calling again late tonight. Really don't want to, but if they're working in shifts then I plan to ask the Agent tonight about that. Also, the night agents are always much nicer in my opinion.

You have to go back to USCIS? Oh my goodness. Where can I send you a condolences card?

Yes, NSC rules the I-601 waivers. I am at their mercy. Started at the NBC, transferred to TSC, shipped to NVC , going to the embassy and then shipped off to NSC ( what a ride ) But my husband is worth it !!

She didn't know what she was talking about. They need the Case number or the USCIS receipt number to access your information in their computer. You need your NVC case number and IIN to access your information in the CEAC or DOS website. You'll need to call back and get your IIN from another operator, to get through on the website.

Make sure you're asking for the invoice identification number. Don't abbreviate to IIN on the telephone with them.

Okay I just want to give closure to the issue I had earlier with the AOS fee showing as Paid but the funds were not debited from my account.

Today the status changed to "NOT PAID" and the previous transaction is labeled as "Rejected". I went ahead and paid it myself this time to make sure that the routing and account numbers are for sure right. I lost 10 days from this but I'm hoping the payment of the AOS doesn't impact the appearance of the IV?

Darn that lawyer!! Good luck with the rest of the journey :luv:

well, everybody... WE GOT OUR CASE NUMBER AFTER 24 DAYS! :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: :dancing: I really can't believe it! I just called (only on hold for 25 min.) thinking that they would tell me to wait the generic 30 days. Our case number was generated yesterday, May 29. Now on to the next step.

YAY!!!!!! Congrats, what a great feeling :goofy:

Others already responded, but be sure to say the word in full, not just the abbreviation 'IIN'. Good luck :)
