looking at your timeline, why did you get a checklist for your certified marriage certificate?

Checklist for marriage certificate was May 1. They got my response May 5, scanned in May 6.

OOPS

Totally read that as "When"

I sent in a certified copy, but it doesn't "look" certified because it's from a small town (just two pieces of paper stapled together). I sent in another certified copy with a post-it note attached to where it says "Certified copy". I also requested a supervisor review in case that doesn't work.

Ok guys, I've been waiting since early Tuesday morning for the INTERVIEW LETTER and was getting more and more depressed each day. I noticed this morning that people were calling to get the interview date so I though, WTH, and called.

A nice young lady answered the phone and said that my interview had been scheduled several days ago (Tuesday, Wednesday?) and they are behind in sending out the emails! You know, if they would put more effort into the emails then there wouldn't be so many calls! Duh!

Anyway, interview (for now) is July 9, 7:30 AM

I'm attempting to stay positive (despite my last post). Today is my esposo's last day at work! He'll be taking time off until we leave. Which will hopefully be in July. *sigh* I'm working the full month of June until July since schools here have July off. I don't want to work in August (I'm sick of the school) so I really need this interview to be in July.

But anyways, we'll be celebrating today because it's the last day of work for my esposo! Even without CC there's still something to be happy about. :goofy:

(or at least that's what I'm telling myself  )

It was my husband's last day at work too!! Last night they all went out to dinner with him. It is definitely bitter sweet for him because he enjoys his job.

Congrats on the baby! I am Dominican, well of Dominican parents born in the USA. I am sure you will get your interview way before September, it would be better in my opinion if she gives birth wherever you are living in like that you can be with her during the whole process. Where are you from if you don't mind?

I wish I had gotten a July interview is my bday month and marriage anniversary but I know is not going to happen lol.

ah gotcha. i requested a certified copy from the local registrar where the wedding took place and they wrote "true copy" on it to signify that it's a certified copy. i guess i'll leave a note in my checklist that this is all the registrar does in this town when you request a certified copy..

it was explained to me that it needs to have the official stamp from the civil registry ( at least in CR) so as long as they stamped it with their offical stamp and signed it, you should be fine.

yup, it's stamped/signed like the original but now has "true copy" and "29-5-2014" written on it to show it's certified.

they have pictures that they reference when reviewing the documents. For Costa Rica, they only have a picture of the certified copy. When I explained what the original looked like, they explained that they can only accept what they explained as the certified copy. So why have original or certified copy in the instructions if you only accept one thing??? They frustrate me... I would have had a CC on May 1st if it weren't for this dumb Birth Cert fiasco. GRRRRRR I lost a month already.. The USCIS had no problem with it.

They should seriously hire people who previously went through the process. The whole thing would be streamlined.. GRRRRRRRR
