GOOD NEWS - BAD NEWS-- just frustrating-

I have two cases-- Wife / Step/daughter.

When I sent in my AOS, I knew enough to send in two separate AOS(s)-- I sent them in the same envelope under the ONE Cover page after paying the AOS fee--

WHAT I DIDNT DO- was attache TWO COPIES of my income documents- so this is what happened my WIFES AOS was approved without a checklist and sent on-- they seperated my step / daughters AOS from the package and didnt attache any supporting documents so they had NO EVIDENCE-- I IMMEDIATELY sent in a second copy and it was scanned on May 22nd--

WELL TODAY I called like every other day-- and I was told CASE ONE - COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ALL DONE EVERYTHING -- BUT they are HOLDING THE case for my step / daughters case to catch up now--

so case one complete-- but still stuck.. how about that!!!

Saylin, not sure if you want to mark me as complete or not--- they told me my wifes case complete!! they also told me IV docs and everything else complete on my step daughters case - just need to review the docs from the checklist on her AOS---

maybe I need two lines on the spreadsheet!! LOL

Ugh.... I want to call because I have hope that maybe today is the day I get CC. But first I don't want them to think I've become a crazy looney who calls every day (I was doing so well with hardly calling until they checklisted me) and second don't think I can hear another, "... 30 days..."

I call twice a day... and now that I know they are working on Saturday... Monday will be a dialing fiesta !!! Orale !!!!

YEs -- ONE FEE for AOS- and ONE cover sheet--- TWO AOS- and ONLY ONE COPY of evidence....

its just a matter of time-- they accepted it on wife already...

I just made a PHOTO COPY of everything and sent it in... with my daughter AOS..

Does it really takes 4 to 5 weeks for NVC to receive case from Nebraska?

Our application took exactly 14 days when NVC received our case.

My opinion is that the brother fills out an I864.

Probably best to wait for your daughter's case complete and use that as your case complete date for your line.

Initially I have submitted DS 261 on 14th May and then again re- submitted on 22nd May.. till now no IV invoice available.. Please help me on this!!!

Yay!! Congrats! The interview thread is growing in size with all these CC's and interview dates!

I'm really surprised and sorry to hear all these reports of the NVC losing documents, given that it means delays in case processing that were totally avoidable. Is there any way to help the NVC *not* lose our documents? Obtaining new civil documents would be a big challenge and delay for us (as I'm sure it is for everyone.)

You know, I almost wonder if there's some trouble-maker NVC employee in the 'receiving' dept that pulls open each envelope..... slides out the documents to scan the bar-code....... then, looking subtly over their shoulder they quickly RIP out one of our documents and throw it under a desk.... just for kicks!!

I received a very encrypted text message from my husband. All it said was, "Email?" And I'm like "Pinterest?" Then my two brain cells decide it's a good idea to check my email... And there it was! Interview scheduled today (May 29, about 1-2 hours ago) for July 18!!!

Yup, me too. Looks like we're waiting another week or two for our IV invoice. Bleargh!

I have two questions that I could use some help with (trying to avoid a checklist)...my wife was born in a very small town in Colombia, so keep this in mind.

1. Her parents do not have the original birth certificate. We have an original "re-issue" (for lack of a better term) which was notarized and signed by the official notary of the town who pulled this from the handwritten books. Is this document sufficient for the NVC/DoS?

2. We were married in the Catholic church. I have original documents from the Vicar and the Priest. The Priest is getting the Bishop to write an original document as well. I am being told by my Lawyer that I need a "civil" copy of the marriage when it was registered locally at the towns notary. The Priest says our documents are the official copies, that the church does not register the marriage with the government. A civil marriage in Colombia is when the town notary marries you. What I have read on the web, there should be a religious document as well as a civil document. Not sure what to say?

I will be in Colombia for two weeks in June and need to make sure that I wrap these two items up. Anybody have any real knowledge or experience with the above?

If you get CC next week, there is definitely a chance for an interview in July. My husband is interviewing in Mexico which is, I believe, the BUSIEST consulate, and we still got an extremely early June interview. Once NVC has shipped your file to your embassy you may call and request an earlier date.

Hi I noticed your timeline, did you actually receive a checklist? When you say "AOS Revision" do you mean you received a checklist and then sent the checklist back?

I have a timeline similar to yours. I have sent an AOS revision three weeks after my original AOS was entered so I am hoping to track along the same as you did

Please help! I am so frustrated. I am filling out the ds260 and I am at the part asking for secondary school details. My husband just told me that although he did finish high school and graduated they only show him going through to second year/ sophomore year. He has tried to get this fixed before but they have him run around so much he gave up. Now that I was asking him the details he recalled the issue and says he can go back to his hometown maybe in a month to try to resolve I am just so frustrated I do not

Want to hold up this process any longer . Should I just input that he finished two years at that school and then if he is able to get the issue fixed and get the actual diploma just bring it to the interview
